there were shops nearby; however, the room smelled of carpet freshener the powder kind. It started an allergic reaction in me and I ended up with bronchitis and called my doctor in California to prescribe a Zpac which she did.
I would like to request that you reserve some rooms where you don't allow pets to stay in those rooms. That would really help with allergies.

The rooms need to be updated. The carpet is gross and there is rusty metal in the bathrooms. The shower was clogged (so gross). I wasn’t super impressed with the room costing us so much.

IN DESPERATE NEED OF REMODEL AND UPDATE!
I'VE BEEN TO THIS HOTEL SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS, I HAVEN'T BEEN THERE RECENTLY. I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW DISGUSTING THE CONDITION OF THE HOTEL. FOR STARTERS THE CARPET, FURNITURE, BATHROOMS, AND PROBABLY THE BEDS ARE AT LEAST 25PLUS YEARS OLD. INVEST IN THE PROPERTY AND REMODEL AND UPDATE

Hotel is a little dated but located in the heart of downtown. Perfect for walking and shopping.

I liked everything about the property except the view. When you open the window curtain, there is a brick wall and that is all you can see. I was told that there were no other rooms available with a better view except the balcony rooms. That was disappointing.

Located in a most convenient downtown area of Fairhope. The rates a commensurate with decor. Great for a quick in and out trip and for family vacations.

The room had some cleanliness issues, like dusty lamps. Staff didn’t always greet me—out of 6 walk ups to the elevator from outside, only 2 times did I get a welcome, which made the experience less warm. The property appeared clean overall, but the worn-out banquettes in the dining area were uninviting. In my room, there were a few problems: the door didn’t close automatically, which led to it being left open a couple of times. This is a safety issue that should be fixed. The air conditioning unit was also noisy, like a train starting up. I reported it, and while a repair person came, the noise was still present, though quieter. I found that keeping the AC at a higher temperature helped, Despite these issues, the stay was acceptable.
