The renovation update of this hotel was shoddy. The bathroom had painted over black mold in multiple places. The bathtub was old and discolored. The door to the outside had no stop so it slammed shut every time someone came through, right next to our room. The bedding coverlet was torn. The entertainment center doors were installed improperly and misaligned. There was only yucky fast food nearby. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

Upon check-in, we found hair in the tub and it did not appear to have been cleaned. We reported this and a housekeeper came to the room and cleaned the tub, stating that this was not a room that she cleaned but was helpful with taking care of it.
When getting ready for bed, as we pulled the sheets, a cricket was crawling on the mattress, jumping around. I was able to catch it and take it to the front desk. I shared with them that this was the second thing that happened to us resulting in me wondering about the cleanliness of the room. She assured me that she would reach out to the district manager and "make it right".
For both situations, they said that had I not used *******, but reserved through Hilton, I could have received points (I'm not a member), however, since I used a "third party", they couldn't provide me any reimbursement or concessions towards my stay.
The next morning, at check-out, I asked one more time about how to "make right" from the tub and cricket... The front desk said, "That's what happens on the first floor... Orkin can't get all of the insects."
Whelp, that sealed the deal for me.

Breakfast was very average and less than experienced at prior Hampton stays. Fake eggs and bland sausage. Add the biscuits and gravy and your closer. Card on exterior door didnt work as promised. Not a huge problem but disappointing. For 200$ in BLOOMINGTON IL definitely overpriced.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room and bathroom were unacceptably dirty upon arrival. Housekeeping had left used cleaning towels draped over the shower curtain rod, and the bathtub contained hair and standing dirty water because the drain had been closed. Dust covered nearly every surface, and the entire room smelled strongly of mildew.
When I raised these concerns, I was told the hotel was sold out and a room change was not possible. Instead, I was offered the option to either wipe down the bathroom myself or have the front desk manager do it—completely unreasonable for a guest who has paid to stay here. At checkout, when I brought this up again, my concerns were dismissed rather than taken seriously.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and I left feeling both frustrated and disrespected. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this property to others.

The bathroom door would not lock because the latch hole was too small for the door latch but besides that the room and hotel were very nice.
