On booking, we were informed that the the conference centre is 'fully functioning', even thought the hotel isn't open to the general public and this couldn't be further from the truth. The entrance is via a fire exit, so you can only get in if it has been propped open. There is no signage to help you find where to go (took 10 minutes to locate the room) and no staff on hand. The building is falling apart, with moths, flies and filthy and smelly furniture ... and big sticky fly traps on the back of doors. There is no where you can buy cold drinks other than water or any food and the car park and surrounding areas is revolting, full of hotel furniture, left out in the rain. Very naughty to sell this as meeting room space, in my opinion it doesn't meet basic hygiene requirements and I won't be booking any Mercure Hotels in the future

Attended a meeting in one of the suites on the ground floor. Had to enter through a side fire door as couldn’t go through main reception due to building no work which is fine as well signposted. However the overwhelming smell of damp was awful. The chairs in the communal area were filthy and smelt. Not a great advert to book any future rooms for business meetings.

My steering felt funny driving from Bramhope. Called into the car park and pumped up my tyre to get me home. Looked around and couldn’t see any cameras. Or charging signs. Went to the reception to be met by a couple of Asian men with very broken English saying not allowed, not allowed. I explained I was enquiring about any parking fees and just not allowed. You need to leave. Got a parking fine but I’m refusing it. It’s full of illegal immigrants yet they are advertising weddings. Would you want your special day ruined by some immigrant shouting abuse at you. Thought not. What a shocking experience. They chose a government contract over being a normal hotel. I hope nobody ever goes back.

Don’t listen to staff as they don’t know what they are talking about. I donated blood at the Mercure in November and was advised the parking management system had been turned off for the day and I didn’t need to register my vehicle. It wasn’t and I am now battling a £100 parking charge. I have emailed the hotel twice and received no reply. I have also emailed the CEO but have received no reply. Clearly, this hotel appears to demonstrate absolute contempt for people doing something for others. I won’t be using this chain in the future, even for blood donations. Having given blood, it seems the parking management company want their pound of flesh. However, I have never defended myself in court so that will be an interesting experience. Hopefully my lack of faith in the legal system will be misplaced.

Went to the Mercure Leeds to donate blood on 22 November 2024. I and several other diners were advised the parking management system had been turned off and that we didn’t need to register vehicles. Today I received a parking charge for £100. I don’t mind donating blood to the NHS but not to Smart Parking! Needless to say, I won’t be going there again, and if any other donation venue has parking management I will be turning round and going home. What has the world come to!

Terrible. Place is full of illegal immigrants smoking ****. Staff rude and the security have a an aggressive presence. Wedding Cancelled as a result. AVOID. Used to be a really nice place, NOT ANYMORE. Such a shame that such places have been soiled.

It was the occasion of our Golden Wedding anniversary. The hotel set the tables as if for a wedding including, flowers, candles and drapes over the seats at no extra cost. We requested a self serve buffet similar in principle to that of a carvery . The vegetable soup was to die for and everybody raved over the salmon. The price was very reasonable a great place for a party.

We went on a day pass to the Feel Good Health Club at the Mercure Hotel and it was such a relaxing experience. The steam room is massive compared to most and works well, whirl pool, swimming, sauna, what more could you want? even now very reasonably priced...Karen was fantastic; so warm, friendly, going above and beyond with hospitality, getting us an extra chair for my friend and showing her timetables, etc etc. Love this place.

Our morning meeting at the Mecure, for 35, organized in Caberet seating, in the ballroom today went very well. Nash was an excellent host; always to hand to help ensure all went smoothly, from setting up our PowerPoint, to sorting the hot drinks, tidying and clearing away - and with charm, courtesy and efficiency. Thank you Nash.
