For a Marriott I expected more. Room was ok…asked for a king size bed and pull out couch. Room only had king bed no pull out couch. They brought in a crap roll away bed. Wasn’t the cleanest. Hair on light fixtures in the hallway. Idk felt more like a holiday inn than a marriott

The $40 destination fee was weird, I was given a ticket for two drinks (I'm sober as is my spouse), and $12.50 (which apparently is what a pint of Ben & Jerry's costs, as no change given.)
The toilet paper holder in the room was precariously hung to the wall and surrounded by ripped wallpaper. Even more precariously, the cover for the HVAC unit in the corner was hanging open at the bottom. Sliding door on bathroom is weird. The overall decor was updated and lovely, but there was a lot of wear and tear, dirt streaks on walls, chipped and worn fittings and trim that indicated there isn't a lot of upkeep / maintenance. The sheets wouldn't stay on the bed which worried me about the mattress cleanliness. The outlet next to the bed didn't work. The room didn't have a microwave - there is one for the whole hotel so that was fun. (The room does have a hair dryer, full size ironing board and iron tho, so the absence of a microwave was a bit weird. Maybe there's an amusing story behind it.)
The gym was lovely with plenty of machines and an impressive amount of space and array of equipment. The 2 yoga mats are crumbling and in need of replacement. The pool was lovely and clean and heated, with nice large sheet towels provided.
The ev chargers were functional and very convenient.
I'm torn on this one, but, overall it was more worn than I expected based on reviews I read.

I have never in my life encountered hotel staff that are so incredibly rude. And I’ve traveled a lot.
When checking in, they didn’t even make eye contact with me and spoke to me in such an aggressive tone-I did say something to that person. I came down later at night & was treated so disrespectfully by a different staff member- I walked away appalled! They were so rude to me and the only person working at the front desk so when I got back to my room and found the sheets stained & the TV not working at all— I had no one to call & complain to.
I’m shocked at how poorly I was treated by The front desk staff when I was just trying to check in & later ask a simple question.
Very unprofessional & unwelcoming.
It absolutely ruined my experience at the hotel.
I’m extremely disappointed & think that I should be treated as a human being with kindness & respect. Let alone, for the cost of this reservation- the TV should work, & The bed needs to be clean!!
Also there was no notification of an additional „resort fee” that I was required to pay when I made this reservation.
I’m so disappointed in the poor customer service and treatment of me like I was an inconvenience to the people who work here. Marriot should be ashamed.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect but this is a business! And customers should not be treated like trash.

I love this hotel we've stayed here before for a group meeting. It is so comfortable it is attractive inside and out, the food is amazing the service is incredibly excellent I mean people come and greet you and show you to where you have to go everyone's very friendly everyone's very efficient I travel a great deal and I rarely experience this level of sophistication at a reasonable price. You are only a few minutes to downtown Mystic and a short ride to New London so a strategically located off the exits but you're up in a secluded area so you feel like you're in the country. Everything is well appointed and I just can't say enough. They even have streaming services on the tv - as a streaming devotee I appreciate that too. If you have an opportunity to stay here please do.
