Situated a stone's throw from the station. Absence of atmosphere, suggesting it may be largely empty. The single room was of a good size, but like many hotels these days, they did not offer a wardrobe, merely a rail for hanging one's clothes - sadly not possible as NO hangers were supplied. The En-suite was of a good size, though clearly never designed to be a bathroom as there was a large window with no frosted glass, only a shower curtain hanging it front of it (and not well fitted either). The shower is NOT a power shower and hence water pressure is poor. The single bed was as described, single with a single duvet and no other covers (it has been very cold lately so additional bedding would have been useful). The sheet did not quite reach the top end of the mattress. Check-out was strange as there was no-one manning reception and I was leaving to catch a 9am train, so had to leave the keys on the desk on the other side of the counter. Before I left to meet my family the evening I arrived, I noted a sign at the entrance which stated the doors would be locked at 10:00pm and anyone requiring entry thereafter would need to alert staff. I made enquiries about the process but was assured the door would not be locked, needless to say it was when I returned. I was in room 6 which has no directions noted anywhere on any of the wall, so it required searching every corridor.

Absolutely disgusting, should be closed down, I have no other words then vile, we had to sleep in our coats and clothes. No hot water no heating. We had a sleepless night due to trees being chopped down opposite us at 12:30am till 4:50, the hotel denied they know nothing about this happening, but my partner had asked the workers and they had told the hotel about this happening. Dirty Moudly and stuck of crap!

Awful filthy dirty ! Disgusting dirty mattresses pillows ! Filthy carpets it should be closed down ! Never stayed in a place like it in my life ! Can’t wait to leave ‘

You most certainly get what you pay for. The room at first seemed OK but there was no wifi which when I asked the person at the front desk said that it had been playing up a bit. The main reason for this review though is the state of the mattresses (double bed is two singles zipped together) and rock hard. The actual mattress was disgusting beyond belief. No mattress protector and just a thin sheet over the disgusting mattress - had I have seen this before staying I would have found somewhere else. I absolutely would not recommend staying and I left as soon as I could in the morning and well before the check out time.

Well, where do I start??? In a nutshell.... Disgusting!!! I made an error on a last minute booking which the guy on reception could clearly see but choose to not help. Due to a family grief & we travelled from Portsmouth & needed to get some sleep & washed etc. So as he wouldn't accommodate our situation over the genuine mistake I made when booking , baring in mind it was literally 30 mins after we booked we arrived I had a complete breakdown so was crying hysterically at the desk & he said he was sorry but nothing he could do, my partner asked him was there any rooms available at all which he replied yes, so my argument then was why couldn't he just accommodate us ?? So because of my breakdown & anxiety we paid for a room, number 25, £70 !!! I should of realised the alarm bells was ringing at this point but was so desperate to get some sleep & calm down etc off we went to room 25. Oh dear god, my anxiety got worse & I had a asthma attack brought on by the state of the room & obviously I wasn't staying there, not a chance!!! But because I didn't go down to reception within 5/10 minutes to complain & say we're leaving & I'd like a full refund basically it was "what do you expect me to do" company policy is "apparently" we didn't complain quick enough so tough. Baring in mind, by now, the state I was in, he actually had the audacity to ask me "what had we been doing?? for the very short amount of time in the room & I should of came back to reception sooner. I can tell you what I was doing.... Hysterically crying, my anxiety was so bad it brought on an asthma attack so at that moment in time I was not in a fit state so to speak to go straight back down to reception!!! And I was mortified about the room, shocking doesn't even cut it.... I have wrote to the manager & had no reply so it's being dealt with by my bank & trading standards. I've took pictures which I will attach because they have shown no compassion at all over this & I feel that this hotel needs closing down & refurbished to a very high standard!!! Cos right now it's far from it. The room hadn't been cleaned, cobwebs by the window, mould, light fittings dangerous, carpet not even hoovered & as for the bathroom..... I can't really say what I'd like to say except Avoid this place at all costs because it's a health hazard!!!

You’re not a resident here, you’re a squatter! No aircon, the place stinks to high hell! IGNORE positive reviews, fake as f()ck! Refuse to return payment!!! Do yourself a favour and DONT!!!!! Travelodge only across the road and a PALACE in comparison!! Security is a shambles, my key fitted at least 2 doors that I know of, doors that are wafer thin, fire doors which I’d question. Absolutely disgusted with myself for not reading the reviews first Has the council even looked at this place? Stunned that this place hasn’t been closed as a health hazard!! The amount of people that’ve walked out of it and went to Travelodge instead! Should’ve taken photos but I couldn’t get out of it quick enough!!

You pay for what you get, and that's nothing. Horrible smell, filthy carpet, torn flooring in bathroom which was stuck back together. No WiFi, even though they advertise it. Should be shut down. Oh but clean sheets on the bed. I couldn't wait to get out

we went as a family with 3 young children and book 2 rooms , we wasnt expecting luxury but what we got was dreadful the place should be shut down it was falling to bits . the corridors were dreary and water damage everywhere buckets left in corridor as tripping hazards for kids as ceiling leaking , windows were unsealed gapping holes all around . then into rooms plug sockets hanging off the wall with young children ! stain on bedsheet , window cracked , window sill peeling , bulbs missing , untiled bathroom .. worse place ive ever stayed
