My boyfriend and I had a lovely 2 night stay here. The camp manages a balance I haven't seen elsewhere - you feel like you are immersed in the bush, with hippos on the grass infront of your room and bushbuck roaming near the main lodge, yet at the same time secure since a non-obtrusive electric fence made it safe to walk to our room at night and sit out on our veranda in the dark watching fireflies. The rooms themselves have exquisite attention to detail, with driftwood light fixtures, plants and little aloe gardens everywhere, and the whole room encased in anti-bug netting walls, allowing you to sleep comfortably while preserving unobstructed views of the lake from the wall-less open front of the room. Also unique is the fascinating museum of rocks and fossils, and learning more from Steve about the paleontology discoveries in the area. The idea of dinosaurs gives a whole new angle to a lake/area I previously just associated with game and fishing. The boat rides were always a pleasure, shaded from the sun, with plenty of beverages and with father-son team Steve and Graham pointing out animals, birds, and interesting other boats. Steve really knows how to frame the shot for a slo-mo video of a fisheagle catching a fish! We did a short bushwalk, which was good fun learning how to approach and depart from an elephant without it ever knowing we were there, and learning about rocks spoor and plants along the way. Tip - dark colored safari clothing (e.g. dark grey) is apparently better than light colored (e.g. sand). Highly recommend Musango, in fact after hearing about our trip more of my family are already making plans to visit soon.

We had a fabulous introduction to African Safari and camps on our three night trip to Musango. Arriving by charter flight from Harare on Grandair we were met by our guide Conrad and driven in an authentic Landrover through the stunning bush and shoreline landscapes to the island camp. What followed was 3 days of exciting and interesting game drives, pontoon boat cruises with hippos and crocs and exceptional delivery of information about the area, flora, fauna, and prehistoric finds. Also adding to the experience, a visit to an African fishing village, and a wild drive back to Bumi airstrip in a thunderstorm. An unforgettable trip for the family (3 teens). Fabulous catering. Take cards, books or games for the midday downtime. Highly recommend this camp.

I went based on an in-country recommendation for birding locations and this camp exceeded expectations. Watching birds and wildlife from the pontoon boat offers a unique and relaxing perspective. Excellent opportunities to see the birds interact with their environment and to track them. Steve among the most knowledgeable and enjoyable guides I have met. Wendy leads an excellent hosting staff. Fresh food beautifully prepared, relaxing accommodations, beautiful lake views, sunrises, sunsets, and starlight. Everything you need, including a unique and isolated setting. Well worth the trip and I do hope to visit again if I can.

It was a Paradis on Earth. We were from the first second a part of the whole Family Edwards. It was an adventure to dive into you her lives and to feel the passion they have for that wonderful Place. We enjoyed a wonderful time - and we will never forget !!! At this place you feel at home, far away, in Simbabwe. The fool was delicious and it was served with much variety - we loved it at. The Chalets are warmly decorated and the garden in front was romantic. The Main House is like a castle in the bush - proud and in a wonderful rustically style. We will never forget the night dinner on the Lake Kariba. And all the stars in the sky...and in all your hearts... Hug, Lukas Grindelwald

We stayed at this beautiful camp for 4 nights, and it was the highlight of our Zimbabwe adventure. So many elements combine to make this a magical place: the incomparable setting with the sunrise on one side of the main area and the sunset on the other, the comfortable and private individual lodges, the tranquility of the lake, and the animals and myriad birds that come to feed on its shoreline, and wade in the water. And of course the top-notch guiding and hosting provided by the owner and his family. You guys are so lucky to call Musango your home, and we felt privileged to share it with you just for a short time.

We returned to Musango as part of a three safari camp visit to Zimbabwe. The unique Musango experience remains as special as ever. The beauty and quiet of the camp and lake provides ideal relaxation and recharging of batteries either as a result of a hectic life or from the relentless programme of safaris. There is incredible bird life . We have been on some 12 safaris throughout Africa and there is nowhere to compare with Musango. Sitting in quiet on the pontoon up a creek ticking off some 50 birds will remain in our memory. A fellow birdwatching guest had ticked off over 100 species. The camp is run by the incomparable Steve Edwards, formerly National Parks Warden of Lake Kariba with many stories to tell, and Edwards family. His son is one of the guides and his wife and daughter run the camp. Thank you to them all. Mike and Birthe Moody
