I have stayed several times now at the Hampton Inn in Hazard, Kentucky. Every visit has been very comfortable with modern, well designed rooms. My stays have always been quiet and check in/out is always smooth. It’s nice to have a positive experience to look forward to when I am away from home for business. There is also a gas station right out front that has really well priced fuel, so that’s a nice perk before I pull out of town after a business trip!

I actually wanted to stay in Jackson, Ky about 30 min toward Lexington. I found Paul’s motel that cost less than 1/2 a night. It was def dated, but clean & all I needed. Enabled me to spend a day & 1/2 with family whom live in Breathitt County. While HIE looked nicer, I had zero desire to spend $400 for a 2night stay in freakin Hazard! How do these hotels even stay OPEN? Almost HAS to be a front😁

This was my second time staying at this location. I found it to be very much as most Hampton properties. The staff was friendly and helpful. As for the breakfast, it was a little lacking. The biscuits were very hard (even the microwave couldn't soften them up). As with most Hampton breakfast, powdered eggs and a very lacking selection breakfast offerings. The room was average. Nothing special, nothing terrible. I will say that the hotel cleaning staff needs to actually put the toilet brush back into the drainage whole to remove the build up there (other than that it was clean, it may be I was just a little picky, but it is not adding any extra time to do that as you are scrubbing the inside anyway). The water pressure was fine for the shower (I had plenty of hot water as well). The bathroom sink was slow to drain, which I did tell the front staff about when I checked out. One thing I will point out is that the room I stayed in still had carpet. I know a lot of the properties have been converting to a different type of flooring. The carpet was not dirty, but after so many carpet cleanings, it just has a funky feel to it, almost sticky and damp (I just kept my flip flops on and near the bed). The beds were comfortable and I was able to sleep fine. On thing to point out, is that like with all properties now, they have done away with curtains. It is just the roll down blind. This does not prevent outside light from coming in around the windows. The location is good. It shares the local grocery store parking lot. As for accessing restaurants, it is pretty close to several options. It is also very close to their hospital.

This looks like a decent Hampton when pulling in the parking lot and walking in the lobby. The desk agent was pleasant and helpful. But as soon as I got off the elevator on the third floor I was hit with a sewer smell. As I entered my room, it smelled stuffy and old. Not a fresh smell. Even though the temperature that week was in the upper 80s, the heat was on in the room. The water smelled so badly of sewer I was afraid to use it to brush my teeth. You’d think after I mentioned it, someone would offer me a free water bottle or offer to move my room. Maintenance came in and said there was nothing to do because the traps allow air and water through (?) So I was anxious to get housekeeping in, thinking the smell would be better. For my two days there housekeeping never came. Apparently they only come if you request and we were never told that when we checked in! Also even tho the room was on third floor, the small window was on the same height as the cars on the highway just outside. Please renovate these rooms and tear up the dirty carpet and secure the doors so they don’t slam every time someone closes them.

Great stay. From the moment we walked and Kendra Miller (front desk) met us with a nice smile and asked how she could help us, everything was great. We have 3 kids, so we needed 2 connecting rooms. Kendra got us set up and even got us a roll away bed, since 1 of the rooms only had 2 bed. Everything was clean, well kept, and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Also, breakfast was good.

We love staying at Hampton Inns as they are consistently a great stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from. The pool was great! All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Becky at the front desk was so amazing! Patient and kind. She helped our large group get settled in despite a number of issues. Room was clean and accommodating and hotel was receiving some exterior work but the inside was fresh and welcoming
