We had such an amazing stay here, despite the not so great weather. It is a beautiful property-great food, warm staff, and cozy rooms- and very unique. Wish we would have been able to enjoy the pool as it is gorgeous, but the weather didn't allow. Howard was our guide and he was the best! Matobo isn't the top park for game viewing but it does offer some different activities than just game drives. The thing I was most excited about was the opportunity to track rhinos on foot and Howard made that possible 3 times. Highly recommend him, he is so personable and we really enjoyed getting to know him.

Wonderful experience all round. Camp with a twist built, some rooms, bar & restaurant built into the rock bolders. Pool amazing. Our hut was more inline with an old African mud hut, with 5 star facilities. (Not built out of mud) Food & service first class, highly recommended. Our guide Howard was excellent, thank you Howard. Highly recommended. Thank you all for a wonderful experience. Mark & Lisa

Amazing experience at the Homestead at Amalinda. The staff in the villa were excellent; the rooms beautifully appointed, and the food was wonderful! Such a peaceful place to stay! Loved being able to walk around the property and explore on our own. Kevin, our guide, was so knowledgeable, and he did such a good job making my son feel special and part of the group. The pool and the lodge itself are beautiful!

This location is amazing and shows great vision by the creators of this lodge complex built around the rocks. The bed was comfortable, the food was always of good quality in a European style. The staff were friendly and efficient - nothing was too much trouble and always with a big smile.

This is a really unique African experience - don't miss it. The focus is not on the game (though walking so close to white rhinos was rather a thrill) but on the rock art of the San people, and enjoying the lodge and the pool. There was some welcome rain when we were there but it didn't stop us getting out everyday with Howard, who was a fabulous guide - extremely knowledgeable about the rock art, and the politics and history of Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. The food was fantastic - we had some of the best steak we have ever had anywhere in the world - and the infinity pool with zebra and a zonkey grazing nearby was a delight. We also had a very interesting walking tour of Bulawayo with Paul Hubbard - worth trying to arrange if you can. The country is a mess, but the people are delightful and it is very safe.
