Have stayed at Eskvale Guest House while updating work is being done at my home. This was both very recently and also a couple of years ago. On each occasion I found the guest house to be very quiet and spotlessly clean. The room rate is good value. For this stay, I needed to leave each day before the breakfast start time but was able to access items like cereals, juice and yoghurts from the dining room. If it had been a leisure stay, Esk Vale is located both near the sea front and handy for eating places in Southsea. The proprietor is courteous and amiable. I would recommend this guest house.

Travelling solo I found the single room absolutely perfect. The room was clean and bright. The bed was comfortable, with a double duvet so no cold spots when I turned over in the night! The shower was hot and straightforward to use. The room I stayed in was near the front door, but even though I heard other guests come and go, I was not excessively disturbed. Breakfast was excellent and set me up for the day. Andy was a warm and gracious host, making me feel welcome from the first contact to checkout. The location is ideal for the shore and south pier, with easy access to local bus services, and a nearby Co-op for any essentials. I’m sure I will be returning in the future.

Room was clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast and owners were very helpful in finding the best way to the port for us. Near to the beach and pier. Excellent overnight stay and will use again

Perfect for a short stay in Southsea
Ideally positioned a few minutes walk from the beach. Beautifully decorated & lovely and clean. Great breakfast, our room was ideal for a few days stay. Off road parking available for a small charge.
