Had a great weekend relaxing in Olympia. Loved the restaurant and bar area, great vibes. The onion rings were a hit with the family, and they had lots of good spirits and brews to indulge in. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

I usually have great experiences with IHG hotels, but this one surprised me (and not in a good way). First, a hotel should never put a single woman traveling alone in a daylight basement room next to a maintenance alley. Second, pulling back the bedside table to plug in your phone and finding dust from the dawn of time makes you wonder about the cleanliness elsewhere. Finally, mold in the bathroom. And the room was roughly 50 degrees when I checked in. It has such potential to be a nice place, but it missed the mark.

Pros: •Great Front Desk Staff •Easy check in (even at 1am) •Spacious room •Very comfortable bed and pillows •Nice Shower and clean bathroom Cons: •Paper-thin walls (we could hear every footstep above us and all conversations next to us) •Random toiletries- not matching brands which was odd for such a nice hotel. •No in-room coffee maker •Restaurant closed at 11am - website misinformed that it was open so we planned to meet local friends for brunch.

The worst hotel that we have been in. We got the worst room, first floor, end of the corner. The door and wall are paper thin, we can hear people talking, walking, and laughing. The worst part was that the room is behind an ice machine, so every a few minutes, you hear compressor sounds. On top of that, the room is super dirty. There was a spot on the curtains, I don't know to know what that was. Ugh! and spider web on the ceiling. Disgusting! They nickel and dime everything, no coffee or tea in the room. So you have to get that "free" coffee in the lobby, of overpriced tea when the coffee stand is open. We will never come back here.

Superb service. Hannah, Taz at desk, waiter all helpful. Clean room. Room 202 Balcony King room, open and roomy, nice view of nature. Near cozy lobby, with espresso bar, nice restaurant with view, fireplace. (no free breakfast but very tasty offerings) Room open and big. Cool wood floors, not germy carpet. Cool wall mural of Cascade Mtns. Large window with sliding doors, balcony. Small bathroom with a nice large step-in shower. Privacy (just nature outside) with curtains wide open. Direct TV LG cable with many channels. Microwave, fridge. Kuerig coffee machine on request (drip coffee in lobby, morning espresso stand.) Broad view across valley. Nature, trees, car lights on the far away freeway at night are cool. Lovely landscaping. Saw a wedding party!Picnic area with a few tables. Lawn, shrubs, lovely tall firs...Nice. All is in good shape, overall. Beautiful furnishings. Beautiful design. Great place. I'll be back! Olympia, of course, has lots of interesting places to visit. Advice to hotel when renovating, as it is said will be happening soon: Thicker windows for thermal - insulation . Heaters are often very loud, as this is...less is better. (Why can't hotels use quiet baseboard heaters? Leave the AC machine exposed to outside for the few days we need it here, but heat with quiet baseboards!) The furniture for now is very nice. Maybe update shower but it's quite big which is great! Low bushs are growing just past lawn. These obscure view of lake, which can only be seen through them from this room and others. Perhaps these can be replaced with low native plants so this room, and perhaps others, can see the lake and lower distant view more clearly. Also, the hot water wasn't super hot at 8:00 am. Demand was high then, maybe...It was hottish, though, so thats okay! Large step-in shower stall is dated. Flat-bottomed BR sink doesn't drain all water, leaves puddle on flat bottom. Also, takes an awful lot of water to slosh old coffee, say, down the drain. Not eco-friendly. Looks nice, though! Great room, otherwise! Nice furnishings. Keep floors, sand if necessary, otherwise leave this room mostly alone, except for insulation. This is an awesome place. Irreplaceable asset to this setting and this city. I'm an amateur NW historian, and this hotel fits right in here! Nearly perfect.

I learned the morning of my departure to stay at the Olympia Hotel (booked in November 2023) I happened to learn that the hotel was “boarded up” according to an online review on the hotel website (where I was checking on my reservation). After several attempts to communicate with the hotel and (previous?) owner IHG, it was confirmed that it was “permanently closed”. I never got any notice of this situation, and apparently neither did the group whose meeting I was attending, as they had meeting rooms booked there for the conference and were never notified of the closure. Fortunately, I was able to book another hotel as I arrived in Olympia after 9pm at night after a 400 mile drive.

I stayed here for business. The hotel has seen better days and is in need of an upgrade. But the room was adequate, and had a microwave and small refrigerator. The bed was comfortable which is the most important thing. And it was quiet. The price beat most hotels. And they threw in breakfast, which was cooked to order and quite good. A whole lot better quality than the buffet offered in similar priced hotels.
