We booked this hotel for our first time to Memphis. It was the most disgusting hotel I've ever been to. The lobby was fine and looked normal for a Homewood Suites, but the first room they assigned us was dark, dirty, and smelled so heavily of cigarette smoke and **** that it burned my throat. I was afraid of catching a disease just sitting on the broken couch. We requested a room change and the next room was no better. Greeting us at the door was a urine-soaked mattress pad cover and wing bones. The inside of the room smelled like somebody sprayed lysol to cover up for the fact that they didn't clean. As a mother of two young children and a cancer survivor, there was no way we were going to stay in that filth. Our family checked out immediately, but Hilton charged us anyway and now they are fighting us on the refund (even though they can see we booked a different Homewood Suites that night in a different location). DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU CARE AT ALL ABOUT YOUR HEALTH!!!!!

Arrived late close to 11 pm , all the rooms are in separate buildings, parking was a problem as no parking available near my building, when I entered the building the hallway carpet was all stained up and had a bad odor. When I entered my room the room had a bad odor and the room temp was 80 degrees I called the desk and they informed the AC has auto thermostat that only runs when motion is detected in room It took several hours to cool down. I am a Hilton Diamond member and expect more from Hilton. This property is filthy stay away.

I just needed a room for one night in Memphis. Thank goodness it was only one night. I booked this place through the Chase travel portal. The photos I saw looked pretty good and reviews seemed decent so I booked it. Now I see why, this place used to be run by Hilton and no longer is. When i walked in, the first thing I see were stains all over the living room floor. I'm hit with that really musty odor you get from very old motel rooms. There were random stains on walls, the lid on the toilet tank was broken and didn't fit properly, making the place look run down. I paid $99 but should've been half that as I have been to Motel 6 rooms for $50 that were in better condition. Also saw a sign saying they are not responsible for cars broken into. Which made me think that this is something that must happen a lot there. Checkin went smoothly and that's about all the good I can say. Never again will I stay here unless these places are renovated and brought under new management.

This place is called Poplar Inn and Suites. It appears to be a condominium complex that just changed ownership to a hotel. It is overpriced and badly in need of refurbishment. The suites are large and adequately furnished. There was used linens and trash in a bag outside the front door upon arrival. Worn carpets, and registers that were badly rusted and dirty. Kitchenette that contained nothing but empty cabinets (stove top and dishwasher have no purpose). Location has easy highway access.

High crime area. My room was stifling hot, my A/C barely put out air and I got no help from front desk. Tried to adjust A/C, cover fell off & moldy inside. Only able to sleep 4 hrs, with wet towels on my body. Would NEVER recommend this hotel ever and embarrassed for Hilton that it has your name on it.

I have stayed in many hotels in Memphis working out of town. I love the big open room in this hotel. The staff seems friendly enough, however if you don't speak Spanish, communication is null with housekeeping Do yourself a favor and visit Ms Betty Guy for breakfast. She's a ray of sunshine to start your day!
