I was put first in a room near construction. Then I was moved away from it due to smells, etc. I believe I should've been told beforehand it was under renovation. Perhaps the whole hotel should be closed during renovation.

This property is under renovation. In most instances this is a good situation because hotels do need innovation and improvement from time to time. However, in this instance I was not aware that renovations were ongoing. This was mentioned to another guest at check-in.
I was in my room around 6:00 the evening I checked in a kept hearing a drill. It would start and stop quickly so I wasn't sure of what I was hearing. I soon realized it was someone working in the room above me. The following morning, around 8:00 the drilling started again only louder. I called the front desk to ask if they could interrupt the drilling for at least an hour or two so I could rest until my morning appointment.
I think the person I spoke to was just placating me because the drilling did not stop. When I checked out of the hotel, I suggested they notify guests when construction work would begin and end. I don't get the sense I was taken seriously. I started my day, not well-rested and frazzled.

It was horrible. No hot water, bugs in bed , trash all around the parking lot. Homeless people sleeping in parking lot. Not a Marriott. Room 138
