Large rooms, clean and tidy. Quite basic. It has all the facilities that you would need. Pool is a bonus. Reasonable price. Short walk into the town centre where you can learn all about the fascinating history. Very good motel to choose as your stopover .

One of the coldest nights we’ve ever spent anywhere! The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. This is quite a dated establishment and the room was compact, as was the bathroom; the shower was over the bath, with a ‘hug-me’ curtain. When we arrived in the late afternoon it was only around 8C outside – but it felt even colder inside the room. We had to run the split system heater all night and it only barely managed to keep the chill off; we were very disappointed that one side of the electric blanket wasn’t functioning. We didn’t bother to ask to have it fixed or be moved – the ‘No Vacancy’ sign was up so we weren’t hopeful. We tried to report the fault the following morning but there was no one in the office when we dropped the key off. What saved this review from only getting two stars was that we were given fresh milk on arrival – a real rarity these days!!

Such a good motel, comfy, cosy and CLEAN. This is our 6th stay and staff are very friendly. This motel is just around the corner from the Main Street, Sheridan Street and very close to bakeries, coffee shops and walking distance to restaurants

My room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The electric blankets were a lovely touch and the showers were hot with good pressure. The customer service was superb and very accommodating. I loved the biscuit offerings which made my stay feel homely. I would absolutely recommend this motel.

Fantastic spot. Quiet, comfortable bed, great location. Very friendly staff. Very good value. Oh, one of the best showers I have had. Talk anbout great water pressure. Added bonus was Tian, a restaurant at the Services Club, just a walk away. Yum. Highly recommended if you are staying in Gundagai.

What a great place to stay, spotlessly clean bed linen was crisp and fresh and pillows the best I have had when holidaying. Shower was big and water hot and strong flow. Nice toiletries provided plus tea/coffee microwave, fridge etc. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Short walk to main street. Had dinner at RSL - Chinese meal was delicious. Would highly recommend a stay here. We stayed on first floor which was a budget room and it was a real surprise as it was great. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

We spent an overnight at this lovely motel in Gundagai on our trip from Sydney to Geelong. Very generous size rooms with large bathroom and comfortable bed, we really enjoyed our overnight. A short walk to quality restaurants and cafes in the Main Street, there is also a pool but not heated. Safe off street parking , this property offers all you need for a short stay

This is the second time we have stayed at Poet's Recall. The first time was in June 2023 on our way north, then we stayed again last night on our return. The room was quite spacious, the bed very comfortable and it had all the facilities we required. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. We had no hesitation in recommending it to our friends and would not consider staying anywhere else. One block away from the RSL and shops. Loved it.

A lovely, comfortable, quiet motel. Large room, we had a twin (queens sized double and a single). Very comfortable. Room had all mod cons, table, 2 chairs, 2 seater lounge. Good bathroom with all things expected. There was no cafe but the RSL is just around the corner. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Cost, $140 per night.
