SO good - a gem whether you are on your way up north or even better on the way back after all of those hikes! So well looked after. Food yummy. Very cool.

We had a delightful dinner and a refreshing drink at the North Star Inn. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the cold beer was a perfect accompaniment to our meal. It was a great place for couples, friends, families, and anyone else looking for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.

Went for dinner. The ladies at the bar were very blunt, no hospitality. Fans above the dining were caked in dust, glad they weren't on as I'd rather not have extra seasoning on my food. Fire hazard of an inward exit door that had fire wood stacked against it outside. Cheesy garlic bread was cheesy, but the bread soggy and cold. Was made to order food from one side of the bar, and told to order drinks at the bar, once ordered drink, I paid for drinks where I had just ordered food. Soft drink can was flat, table water was brown.

The accommodation didn’t meet our expectations. We booked a balcony room. The room was somewhat rustic, rather than “luxury ensuite in a stylish refurbished retro design”. The balcony was furnished with a shabby table and chairs. The bathroom was good and spacious. The communal kitchen had a small refrigerator that hadn’t been defrosted since the last ice age, but was functional. Overall, I think that the price of $175 was expensive for what we got and I wouldn’t recommend it to friends.

Worst service I've had in many years!!! What a grumpy waitress/bar lady!!! Where is the beautiful lady who used to serve? I've been frequenting this hotel for several years and so sad it's gone downhill! Sorry, but I won't return and won't be recommending either! I'm a local, and this is a great loss to the community.

They say service makes all the difference - and that's true. Look the food was amazing, couldn't fault it. Thanks for the meal. However, there was absolutely NO hospitality on the part of the ladies serving at the North Star bar. Rude, unhelpful, short and blunt. Just give the menu, take the orders and smile. That's your job. If you can't do it, people will go to where there is much better service like Jacka Brothers. The people bringing the food were really nice.

Dinner for 2 nights in a row was delicious. First night was Pork Cutlet on a huge bed of sweet potato mash and covered in Hollandaise sauce. Second night was Chicken schnitzel with chips and salad. Both meals were fresh and hot. I couldn’t finish either. I recommend calling to book a table as they do get busy.

We stayed in the green truck room and it was the cutest cosiest place ever! I would definitely recommend it. It has a really cute loft space overlooking the stunning Mount Remarkable. It was well supplied and had everything we needed for our family get away! A great place to visit if you are into mountain biking, hiking and get out in nature. We will definitely be back again

Kangaroo burger excellent Kangaroo snitnzell with vege excellent Chicken snitchell with salad came with rice salad, pasta salad and coleslaw ( not my idea of salad but popular with locals) Grill fish and chip very good Native Apple pie very good (ice cream was cheap vanilla but reflected in price) XXXX, Coper’s and many other beers on tap

What a treat on a winter’s night! Ordered the pork with sweet potato mash and broccoli and it was absolutely delicious! Warm friendly atmosphere- great selection of wines. Loved the slab tables - and random local paintings - altogether delightful.
