We had 4 nights as a family of 4 adults, a baby and a toddler. It was spacious enough for us all and the apartment was bigger than we had imagined which was great. The beds were comfy and the view is incredible. However the cleanliness of the place was not good. The wooden floor was so grubby that within 5 minutes of walking around all our feet were black. We went and spoke to someone about the issue as we had been allowed to check in early (which was great) but we wondered if it hadn’t been finished cleaning and we were handed a mop to do it ourselves. We didn’t mind moping ourselves but obviously not ideal. Even after a mop it wasn’t much better so the next day we mopped again, it must be the grain in the floor or something but we couldn’t get it clean and we all wore socks for the rest of the stay. When checking this place prior to choosing to book we wondered about the smell and noise from the pizza place below; no reviews mentioned it, so we proceeded with booking. However, it is quite smelly and noisy to! As soon as you open up the front door into the stair way there is an overwhelming smell of old cooked/burnt oil, and if you leave your windows open past 5:30 you’ll just get bbq/pizza smell in your bedrooms. A shame as in the summer it’s quite hot on the second floor so it was a choice between smell and noise or a very stuffy room. The noise we kind of expected being above a restaurant but lots of banging doors in the building. So yes a mixed review, and overall we would not stay here again.

Lovely apartment above restaurant but very noisy! Doors slamming, closing restaurant time awful. So much noise. It says apartments are sound proofed…. Couldn’t hear restaurant customers talking, but the clearing up and locking up extremely disruptive at 11.30pm for a least an hour. Could hear everything from flat sbove too. Such a shame as apartment is very nice and the view is stunning.

I stayed here almost every week for just short of a year and stayed in every apartment at least once but most them were in the Loft (my favourite). I repeatedly booked here because the location was ideal, the apartments were great, the staff very friendly and go the extra mile to beyond helpful. The hardest part of the stay was resisting the temptation to eat in the restaurant every night (which has great food and re-ignited my interest in mushrooms) but thankfully the apartment kitchens are well equipped with good ovens, fridge and most of the kitchen tools you would need to cook your own meals. The Loft is cute and a nice stay for a couple, I'm over 6ft and didn't bang my head on the sloping ceiling once . The other two apartments are very spacious with open plan kitchen/dining/ living area, good for families and the views across the river whilst eating breakfast is a great start to the day. I would definitely recommend this to couple on a romantic trip or base for families to explore from.

Delightful welcome, including allowing us to order dinner from their restaurant at closing time. Great shower, comfortable bed, spacious living room, best kitchen appliances and calming view.

Great apartment with amazing sea view.

Great apartment with amazing sea view. Can be a bit noisy in the evening as it’s above a restaurant. Probably not suitable for young families or anyone who’s a light sleeper wanting to go to bed before 11. But fine for us. No on-site parking (description not accurate). Loads of free parking on the street. Hosts were great and very friendly.

Would stay again

Furnished to high standard as if owners were going to live there. Good welcome and friendly staff. Tea and coffee enough for us and milk in the fridge, great.
