Four of us with our dog called in for lunch today. We hadn’t booked but were immediately shown to a table. Lovely traditional pub with a warm welcome and an incredible choice of pies, served with a choice of vegetables chips or mashed potato. Gravy served in a gravy boat. We all chose a different filling and each of us thoroughly enjoyed it, piping hot and cooked to perfection. Asked if we needed any extra sauces etc. Couldn’t have been better.

We went as a family of 4 for a meal on our last nights holiday due the reputation of their pies. After all the anticipation, unfortunately we were so disappointed. The chicken and fish pies had about 4 pieces of chicken / fish in. We had poor table service as no one came to check in other than seating us. Once we gave feedback during payment, it was explained that the pies are made in batch and that we probably didn’t get a good one??? It seemed the norm… no discount or any sincere apology. Waste of £101 😔

Been to the Piebald in for the first time & certainly wasn’t disappointed. I chose the shire pie & it was the most delicious pie I’ve had in a very long time, the steak just fell apart & melted in the mouth. The portion of pie was enormous that it beat me & couldn’t quite eat it all. Service is great & definitely worth another visit. I would definitely a dive booking a table though as it’s very popular & you would struggle to get a table as a walk in guest.

The food was absolutely amazing, and Ewan was exceptional—so kind and attentive. The pie was out of this world! The only downside was that the restaurant was quite warm at first, but they quickly turned on the air conditioning, which helped. Overall, a fantastic experience—highly recommend!

Went in there around 7:30ish to which we were told the kitchen had been closed down.. completely understood as this was a Tuesday evening and the area was very quiet. We were up here for work so no issue at all, we chose to just have a drink instead. We ordered our drinks and there was a far few people on the verge of finishing their meals, some had already finished... the couple I then opened a conversation with by having a laugh and saying "im just looking round for leftovers" then pointed at there plates and openly offered theirs. Which i obviously wasn't trying to do. I was just having a laugh which they'd cottoned onto and were playing along with whilst smiling and pushing their plates towards me. I was then very rudely addressed by the barmaid by her saying "DO NOT pester our customers", ironically as we'd just ordered a round of drinks. I felt very embarrassed by this point as the other customers they were referring sat there in disbelief with how disrespectful this member of staff was being. I stood there a second, looked at my friends and made the decision to leave. My pint of guinness wasn't even poured fully by this point. I apologised to the other customers and they smiled, shrugged and said honestly it wasn't any issue at all. Awful attitude with the member of staff in question, food looked and smelt lovely but she needs a real wake up call in hospitality. From one long standing member of hospitality to the other. Fix up.

Booked a piecation. The rooms are fabulous we really felt spoilt, chocolates on our bed, great tea tray with Yorkshire tea, coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits. Bathroom had toiletries and the biggest towels I've ever seen!! Robes available to use too. Iron and board to use if you need to. The bed was really comfy and I loved the bedding, felt nice on your skin. Nice sitting area near the patio doors which opened out to a lovely garden. We enjoyed sitting there with a hot drink. Loads of storage and bo noise from other rooms even though they were both occupied. Will definitely book again. The staff were very good, explained everything on arrival and there if we needed anything. From check in to check out we felt very special. Fabulous breakfast cereals, fruit, good menu tea coffee fruit juice. Really good value.

This pub was recommended to us late 2024 so we decided to take up the excellent Piecation offer. Dinner, bed breakfast and a bottle of wine per room. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect. I can understand why people pay for extra room in a hotel now. It was large and long with double patio doors leading on to a private garden. All the extras were in the room as well as the staples. Two white fluffy robes, pair of extra large towels, mask and earplugs, little chocolate. Immaculately clean. I chose my pie shead of time due to lactose intolerance. The pie portions are large! Amazing number and variety of pies. Lots of customers had boxes to take some home!! We had a lovely 3 mile walk to the coast to give us an appetite. Would highly recommend They also take motor homes in the spacious car park

We stayed for the Pie-cation package. Very good value for money. Check in was easy, we were taken to our room and given a run down of everything by a lovely young man. The room was clean, spacious, modern with lovely decor. We ate our evening meal in the bar and the service was great. The pies were top notch. The bar was super dog friendly which was nice to see. Breakfast service was excellent and good quality ingredients. Will definitely be back!!

Stayed at part of thier pie-cation deal bought by daughters for Christmas. Bed breakfast and evening meal with wine for £180. Absolute bargain room big comfortable and warm. Evening meal outstanding a choice of 52 pies to choose from. With a choice of mash/chips, peas or veg. Just outstanding. The same with breakfast. A very good choice of fruits, yogurts, cereals then onto the main event I had a very tasty full English. Cooked perfectly. The pub is nicely decorated, clean and the staff are just lovely. Very polite, friendly and helpful. Met one of the owners at the bar such a nice chap, very welcoming. Well done to all thank you for a great stay
