Stayed here this Boxing Day. On entry room was absolutely freezing, 6 degrees… Sat in our coats for almost an hour. Breakfast in the morning was dreadful. Grey bacon. Eggs cooked in old dirty fat. Oil swimming on my plate. When I asked for toast instead to my surprise I was asked what’s the matter with it!

Even though my visit was short the staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival, food was very nice even though it wasn't my first choice. The room was lovely and clean, the bed was nice and comfy. There was a couple of issues with the room, the remote for the tv didn't work, the bed moved about a lot and the ledge above the sink was in the way so was trying to avoid bumping my head to look in the mirror, but overall a very good stay, i would come back. Also Breakfast was very nice

Sandringham visit
Just a small thing, an additional milk carton would be ideal (4) in total, so the tea isn’t boiling for a morning brew
Otherwise it was a lovely stay

Stayed for concert at Royal Sandringham Park
The welcome at Palmers was excellent, so friendly and helpful. We arrived well before check in time, but this was not a problem. We had a drink and some lunch from the pub menu which was really nice and great value. When our room was ready, we were told so and to call at the bar for the key when we were ready.
A lovely setting in a small quaint village. A bonus we check out today (Friday) as the village holds its weekly market on the Main Street which we shall visit after breakfast.

Long Sutton is a very nice peaceful village. The Ale house was perfect for our needs. The food is very good and with breakfast included it is good value for money.

A group of 7 of us visited in July for a birthday get together, staying in 4 rooms and enjoying drinks, dinner and breakfast the following day. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, the food was lovely and portions were very substantial, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This was a perfect find for our trip. Yes there are some areas that may need attention to bring up to scratch, but nothing that impacted our stay or would put us off coming back again.

I work a lot in the area and Palmers Ale House is my only choice when it comes to finding somewhere to stay. The food is fabulous, lovely staff and a good selection beers and wines to choose from!

The staff were friendly and the rooms are clean and modern. They lack a desk which would be useful and the WiFi code wasn’t provided. The main issue is that breakfast was not available until 08:30 which isn’t of any use if you need to get somewhere for work. A box of pastries was left by the door, but it’s not a healthy option. For my second night I had to buy breakfast from the coop for additional coffee and some healthier fruit options. So I paid twice for breakfast.

Return visits don't disappoint
I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've stayed at Palmers and as always the staff were really welcoming. the pub has a great ambience and the food is excellent. Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable.

We decided to visit Palmer’s Ale House (Long Sutton) for Mother’s Day, expecting a pleasant meal, but instead, we were met with some of the worst service we’ve ever experienced. We had paid a £10 per person deposit (for three people), but when we arrived, we were seated right by the door, where people waiting to be seated were practically hovering over our table. This made for an uncomfortable and unpleasant dining experience, so we politely asked if we could switch to a different table. Instead of accommodating us, the manager and staff were incredibly rude and dismissive, making it clear they had no interest in providing even basic customer service. After realizing how unwelcome we felt, we decided that we would just eat our meal and leave. The manager’s attitude was condescending and unprofessional, even questioning why we wouldn’t order drinks in a rude and unnecessary manner. At that point, we asked if we could have our deposit refunded so we could go elsewhere, given that we hadn’t even ordered food yet. They refused, claiming they had already “paid for the food” – despite the fact that we hadn’t placed an order. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing, and unfortunately, this level of service seems to be the norm here, as reflected in their 3.6-star TripAdvisor rating. If you’re looking for a place with good hospitality and decent customer service, avoid Palmer’s Ale House. We certainly won’t be returning.
