Wonderful stay hosted by Sally . Room was beautiful with a four poster bed which was really comfy. The bedroom was well equipped with a wonderful tea, coffee and snack tray. Bathroom was a good size with full size bath with a power shower, lovely smelling toiletries and lots of clean fluffy towels. Everything was immaculate and clean. Breakfast was very tasty and perfectly cooked ! Plenty of parking too. Great location for Herstmonceux Castle and surrounding area. Highly recommend We will be back !

Set in a quiet lane in Herstmonceux, we found Cleavers Lyng to be the perfect place to come back to after a busy couple of days sightseeing with friends. There are plenty of places within easy reach. We visited Battle Abbey, Sheffield Park and Cuckmere Country Park. Our room was very comfortable and warm, with a modern, spotless ensuite. Breakfast was delicious with 'properly cooked' eggs (solid white and runny yoke) which I very much appreciated. The wi-fi was about twice the speed that we get at home, in a town. All in all, my husband and I enjoyed our stay very much.

Our bedroom was comfortable. The breakfast room, with its oak beams and inglenook fireplace set the scene for

our host, Sally, to bring us full English breakfasts, (my eggs were poached to perfection). Tea from a large silver service tea pot poured without dripping on the linen tablecloth and the toast from the toast-rack rounded off the meal and set us up for the morning. We were also offered home made banana bread wrapped up for a mid day snack. All this made our three night stay....perfect. Thank you Sally!

We visited as a couple for a short getaway and found exactly the breath of fresh air we needed. The room was very clean and comfortable, the owner was warm and attentive, and breakfast was beautifully prepared with every detail considered by the owner, Sally. A special thanks to the chef for the delicious omelette. The overall atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for unwinding together. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet couple’s break.

Only slight negative is that coffee in room and at breakfast could be stronger ( we are French!)

A wonderful stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. Super comfortable bed and lots of nice touches. Sally is so helpful with suggestions where to eat etc. Very quiet with lovely gardens. Area to sit in to look at the views. Would love to go back.

Beautiful location. Fantastic views and great walks. Attention to detail in our room. Wine glasses, cork screw etc. Excellent toiletries. Best breakfast with plenty of variety that I have had in any B&B we have stayed in. Attentive host with lots of local information provided. Pub within walking distance 1.5 miles. I could go on and on. Very peaceful stay and would not hesitate to rebook

Breakfasts are absolutely top rate.

Cleanliness is perfect.

Bathroom/shower could benefit from updating.
