If you are looking for a quiet, very authentic rural stay in Kinmen, and have spent time in Taiwan so are comfortable communicating in Mandarin (with or without the help of Google Translate), I would highly recommend this beautiful spot. It is located within the Sanshan cultural Village outside of Jinsha Township. The accommodation is very comfortable, a spacious room inside a traditional renovated house. Kathryn, the host, could not be more helpful and accommodating. When I left my mobile phone in a restaurant some distance away, she insisted upon going there herself to collect it as she said it would be “too expensive” for us to take a taxi back to collect it. Breakfast was homemade and mostly traditional. She checked with us each evening to ensure that we were happy with the next day’s menu. They also run a coffee house in another part of the building, and their coffee is delicious. We will never forget Kathryn, her family and Sweet Dumpling the tortoise!
