the hotel was ok- the area was ridiculously expensive- this hotel was no exception. the room was in line with others, but they charge for everything from parking to coffee. i'm shocked i didn't get a bill for requesting fresh towels.

We were there for just an evening while attending a show at the Majestic Theater which is less than a block away. Check in is at 4:00, which was pushing it for our plans but they did not seem to enforce that policy for us at 3:30. The facility was clean and remodelled. The staff was super friendly and the Restaurant area (bar and dining) was quite good - tip: Happy Hour 4-7 is a great value, and breakfast offers breakfast buffet or ala carte. Our room faced the Riverwalk and was pretty quiet but not totally. Overall, we would definitely stay there again if visiting center city and Riverwalk! But we have to give a final shout out to Juan the valet who went above and beyond to get our car started in Self Park. We found a completely dead battery and were getting ready to call AAA when he went and got his car and jump started us for the ride home. He certainly did not have to do that and he saved us at least an hour off our return trip. Many, many thanks !!

We always try to stay at a Holiday Inn as they are one of the few hotel chains that do not allow pets. My husband as severe allergies and this is an important factor in determining where we stay. This location is wonderful as it is right on the Riverwalk and therefore has a ton of choices for restaurants. The only complaint I would give is the room and a slight foul smell, but I believe it was from the water in the bathroom.

The only positive about this place was a pretty good location. However, its on an inactive section of the Riverwalk. Close walk to the active area. Worst part was the lack of helpful front desk personnel. 1. Dont answer the phone....fire alarm went off at 9am and no instructions. So we called, no answer. So we evacuated (pajamas). "Oh, our room speaker must not have worked, they announced a fire alarm test." No apology, no nothing. 2. tried to call the bar/grill to order dinner. (Restaurant was closed for renovations the entire stay, ugh. My husband had a small health issue and couldn't go out for dinner 1 night. ) No one would answer bar/grill phone. so I again called front desk to ask if the grill was open ( 8pm). They told me I had to go there to order. They were too busy to answer phone. So I walked to grill and no one would take my order. Bar patrons gave me a drink while I waited ! lol. They said the workers were just bad. So, I finally went to vending machine and got goldfish crackers for our dinner. 3.Needed to take my husband to ER. No help from front desk about good/bad local hospitals. No calling a cab. The bellman did help us find a cab company to call. 4. For anyone wanting a nice pool area, look elsewhere. Sterile, dirty and not a piece of greenery in sight. No one was ever there throughout our long weekend stay. We did enjoy the RiverWalk area (b4 the health issue), but without any help from the hotel we selected. Shame on you HI.
