A friend's room had the smoke detector hanging by 2 wires. My room had a desk that swayed from side to side. Same for the toilet seat. I asked for a wakeup call. If sent, the phone did not ring loud enough to wake me. We had a banquet which was staffed by 1 waitress which required the guests to help serve the food. Also, they had to offer different soup selections because they ran out.

Property was very dirty. Cigarette butts outside the front door. No designated smoking area at least we did not see it. Coffee In the morning 3 days we stayed it was not put out till past 7am. Trash receptacles over flowing all the time. Lobby was always a mess with trash and leaves on the floor and the men’s lobby bathroom always needed attention, The breakfast offering was really bad the bacon looked like it was barely cooked. The room, bathroom needed some updating and all the outlets were all worn out would not hold a computer or phone plug, no USB outlets in the room. The rooms smelled really bad. Appears Management must not be present at the hotel. I will not stay here again or put any of our team members here again for the annual conference we attend in Hartford. Front desk Staff was alway very helpful just appears no leadership is present to set an example for other departments.

I would not recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly but that’s about the only good thing to say about the hotel. The hallways and elevators were dirty and smelled like smoke, the restaurant was randomly closed due to “unforeseen circumstances” and housekeeping never cleaned our room even though we were there for three days. Pay a bit more and go elsewhere.

This hotel is discustingly filthy, absolutely unbelievable for an IHG hotel! Bin overflowing outside with a very large amount of cigarette butts just outside door. Within the revolving door someone had dropped some pills - they were still there 3 days later when we left…. The whole hotel needed cleaning there was dust and filthy over every floor we went to. Room was comfortable but floor and bathroom floor were filthy. We took a look at the breakfast and had we paid for it I would have asked for money back! Pool looked ok but too scared to use it in case it wasn’t clean Wi-Fi was very good Staff were friendly and helpful Plenty of parking Easy 10 min walk into town over the bridge

My company often uses this hotel for training. They no longer even try at this hotel. It's just getting worse and worse every year. We need to use the pool for training and its freezing cold and really dirty. The rooms are sketchy. There was a large stain on the tile in front of the toilet this time. I called to change rooms and they said they were full. The halls smell like **** all the time. The breakfast is $15 and it's basically powdered eggs and microwaved bacon. I would never bring my family to stay at this place. They need a regime change or something. None of the staff give an ish at all.

The hotel customer service is absolutely atrocious. They use a 3rd party reservation company- who can do nothing helpful. I stayed here for business and needed a receipt for my stay. Tried calling front office manager more than 10 times, with no answer. Called the reservation line 12+ times and they could not send me the receipt directly either. so they "transferred me to their colleague" (To the actual hotel) to which i was placed on hold for 20 minutes and the hung up on without talking to anyone- after 8 attempts.....i still have no receipt to this day. Incredibly poor customer service for such an easy task.

I hadn’t read any reviews previous to staying here, and reading all the ones that just preceded mine, I’m glad I didn’t. We stayed one night, after a long day of traveling. Loved the location, quite near to downtown and super easy access to the freeways. We arrived about 7 PM and upon checking in, were told that both the bar and the restaurant were, unfortunately, closed. Bummer, but the girl on the desk gave us a great restaurant tip (Sorella) so no biggie. We did smell **** in the elevator, but it IS legal in this state—I'd have been surprised not to. Exiting the elevator on the seventh floor, we found one hallway blocked off, with a sign announcing it's renovation. Our room was standard, clean, and had a super comfy bed. Oh, yeah, the coffee, both in the room and the lobby, left MUCH to be desired. In short, it seems like they have turned a corner, as they have much to offer. I plan to stay there again when I return in two weeks, if I can get the same rate. Oh, And the shampoo was minuscule.

I booked one night in the hotel. At the check-in they make everybody sign a paper that states that the hotel is smoke free. When we get to our room there was terrible tobacco smoke smell. When I went back to front desk to complain and ask for a different room, I was told that the hotel was fully booked. I told them that I couldn't stay in the room and they gave me a different room. When I unlocked and opened the door to the new room there was a woman with two children occupying it. She told me that they gave her a room that was occupied too. I apologized and went back to front desk. But they did nothing and I had no choice but to stay in that smelly room. That was graduation weekend in Uconn and all areal hotels were fully booked. We woke up in the morning with headache and our cloths all smelled. Next morning I tried to talk to the front desk but was told that I'd need to talk to a manager but it was Sunday and I need to call Monday. I called monday and Tuesday but my voice mails were ignored nobody ever returned my calls. I called corporate number and was told about 100 times that they were very sorry but could do nothing about it. Beside the smell the room had other issues but they seemed small in comparison with what I just described. I got an impression that the management of this hotel doesn't care at all. And I don't hold a hope that they somehow respond to this review but at least it may help other people to avoid that bad experience that we had.

Older property that has not been updated. My room was missing the desk lamp which made it dark in that corner. The grounds had debris from a fallen tree. But, it was amazingly quiet and I got a great night’s sleep! Friendly staff—especially the housekeepers! Pleasant stroll across the river to the convention center.
