The hotel was recently renovated and very clean. Staff at the front desk were friendly, competent and polite. Our room was very spacious and clean. We often stay at Holiday Inn express and they are always excellent!

I did not use any food service. What I did not like and found to be unsafe and disgusting was black mold in several places on the bathroom ceiling and rust on the bathroom fan. I brought the mold issue to someone at the front desk. Outside my window on the first floor there was a large pile of debris. Refrigerator, cabinets, all types of construction debris like it was from a renovation.

Disappointing, considering the price.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the free breakfast options were good.
The location is sketchy, in my opinion. I didn’t fear for my safety, necessarily, but it’s the kind of run down commercial district that is too common in middle America.
I booked here because the downtown hotels didn’t have free parking. As it turns out, I wish I had spent the extra $20/night because we went downtown every night (about 15 minute drive) and had to pay for parking anyway. By the way, the downtown area is full of attractions, nice restaurants, and is generally lovely.
Bottom line is this hotel could be a decent option for 1/2 the price, but for what it is — and where it’s located — it was disappointing.

Property location Good. Each night we were there, the hotel seemed to be full. Compliments to management for excellent staff training, including room service staff. However they could not overcome a facility that has clearly seen its better days. The furniture in the dining area was well worn and stained. Carpets were stained despite them attempted to be cleaned while we were there. One of our rooms had a broken toilet seat. The other, the toilet paper holder was broken and just dangling. the Brand image of Holiday Inn Express takes a serious hit at this location. The only saving grace was the attentiveness of excellent people. From check in to check out, they made that part of the stay good. Holiday Inn Express should be embarrassed for this location.

The rooms smelled, carpet was stained and looked bad. Bathroom tub not cleaned broken floor tiles toilet was stained and the back tank lid was broken.

I had to clean the bathroom toilet before i used it as it had old dried urine on the seat.

The breakfast was excellent and the facilities were clean. The bed and couch were worn out and needed to be replaced.
