It’s been a while since I last stayed here and it would seem there has been some investment which is great to see. Friendly stay with a welcoming bar which had a mixture of residents and locals. Good housekeeping in a comfortable bedroom that catered well for the needs of the guest.

A very quirky/old hotel, which added to its charm, with friendly and helpful staff. I was disappointed to hear it was closing down shortly. A great atmosphere in the hotel given it is due to close down soon. Hopefully the staff get suitable alternative employment.

Hotel was traditional and full of character. Only real problem was the rooms being cold. Radiator was only hot at the bottom and stone cold at the top. The 2nd room had warm radiators, but heating was off overnight and the following morning, so it was really cold. We were given an extra blanket so 2 of us slept ok. Maybe the rooms need some sort of backup heaters for very cold nights.

Arrived at Bell hotel Driffield on entering we could see it was quite quirky. The receptionist was polite & friendly.. when we entered our room I was quite taken back on how it did not fit the description of the executive room I had booked.. The room was quite tired looking, and I found elements quite creepy, the drapes around the bed,and the tasseled lampshade. The bathroom needed bringing into the 21st .. Knowing I won't be comfortable sleeping in the room I requested a room change , Ivan who again was polite & friendly sorted this out. The room given was brighter, but still needed up grading along with the bathroom .. Food at the hotel was pleasant, the breakfast was delicious.. The hotel definitely needs a good investor to bring it up to 21st standards, whilst still retaining some of the quirkyness.. Unfortunately I will not return..

On the whole this hotel is dated and dull and not that clean. It requires a complete renovation. Out room was small pokey and the carpet threadbare, my wife said it smelt musty and old.The whole place need a complete renovation. My daughter in law stayed in hotel 41 up the road which was of a far higher standard for the same price. Good points were that Breakfast was nice and the staff friendly. I would not book this again.

Hotel in need of complete refurbishment. All areas very drab & dreary & furniture very old fashioned. Hotel is in good situation & the food in general is good. Car park is to small for the hotel & spa. Lots of corridors with some in need of better lighting.

A hotel with a nostalgic feel. Very comfy bed. Unfortunately we were allocated room 31 which smelt as described by others as a musty basement. The stairs in the room definitely need some sort of warning signage the steps are polished wood surface which is exceptionally slippy. My decision to score three is no reflection of the staff at the property who work hard and are lovely but the sheer fact that the smell in the room was so bad it actually spoilt the stay.

Stayed here recently for two nights. Room 31, which is best described as a damp, musty basement. TV reception was like listening to Norman Collier with a stutter. If your booked into this room, where a zip wire if you plan to visit the toilet during the night or you will be risking your life. Hotel staff were really nice but I wasnt keen on the hotel, its tired, dated and needs a big refurb. Best Western, dig into your pockets and do the place up, otherwise, charge a price according to what your offering.
