Yet another fantastic week.had a sore toe and had problem Tuesday evening..they not only rang me a taxi 🚕 but also said if there's any problems returning late l don't hesitate to call them .was even offered a sandwich or something if back too late and a bowl for my foot .the staff are fantastic second to none asked all week how I was ,and Did we need a hand with luggage .they treat you like royalty .the room was absolutely stunning lovely comfy bed lovely view overlooking Porth beach ⛱️,lovely TV and the heating was on all day so no worries of feeling cold.beeakfast first class so much on offer.had packed eggs then reverted to a three egg cheese omelette was golden brown and perfection.the staff take time out to talk to you from the gardener to housekeeping to waitress staff and reception.so many names I can mention Michelle, Charlie ,Maurice,Stuart ,Alison I can't remember all the names all I can say is it's my sixth visit and I can't wait to come back again very soon.you are a credit to all the hotels in Cornwall and I wouldn't stay anywhere else by far the best in Cornwall .

We’ve recently returned from a two night stay here and found the hotel just perfect for a couple of nights away out of season. There was plenty of free parking, the room was spotlessly clean with lovely towels and linen and the breakfast was fabulous. So nice to see the hot choices prepared to order instead of sat on hot plates at a buffet. As well as a full Cornish there was a list of specials available too. A short walk downhill to Porth Beach in one direction and a flat 20ish minute walk into Newquay town in the other. The only negative to our stay, and this isn’t related to the hotel more of a caution to other out of season visitors, is that we found the majority of restaurants closed Monday to Wednesday so check before you arrive and book ahead. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, it was great value for money especially considering the quality and standard of the breakfast!

We stayed in an apartment in the hotel grounds. The apartment was comfortable, warm, and had all the facilities that were needed including an excellent bed. The apartment had a lovely situation and a view of the bay from the garden. Also, there was a parking space allocated for the apartment. From the garden, you could join the coast park and walk into the centre of Newquay. Fistral beach and Rick Stein’s beach front restaurant was worth a visit. Lots of lovely locations nearby make this an excellent place to stay, even in winter! Highly recommended!

My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel, the experience was excellent. The hotel is well positioned next to Porth bay and only a 20 minute costal walk into Torquay. We upgraded our room with a balcony which was well worth the money, with a sea view, room 12. The room is large, well equipped and decorated. Tea and coffee machine well stocked with arrange of biscuit's replenished each day. The breakfast was excellent, with a full Cornish and an excellent range of additional items on the menu. This was supported by a table of continental items ranging from pastries to cereals and fruit. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Would fully recommend this hotel and we shall return.

Good hotel would benefit from minor improvements.
An excellent hotel, but could do with minor improvements.
Serving meals in the evening would make it 5star.
Breakfast is very good and service is first rate.
Room 12 is a good room, but the en-suite needs improvement. The washbasin is really tiny for the size of the bathroom, and there is very little shelf space. The supply of toiletries was limited and not of the quality that you would expect for the price of the room. The coffee machine seems to have been little used, and having used it, it’s because the taste of the café au lait capsules is poor.
We didn’t use the pool but it is a bonus provision.

Regarding evening meals, this is something we have offered in the past (pre-Covid) but sadly it was not cost effective for us. For now we advertise bed and breakfast only. We're pleased to confirm that the bathroom upgrade for a few rooms, including Room 12 where you stayed, are already scheduled for this coming winter. This will address the wash basin size and shelf space concerns you mentioned. We are sorry you did not like the quality of the supplied toiletries. Our suppliers are regularly reviewed and your comments are noted. On a future stay it's worth noting that you can contact reception should you need any additional supplies during your stay.Your feedback about the coffee machine capsules is the first we've received on this matter, and we truly appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We're conducting a review of the coffee stations which are supplied only in our superior rooms, to ensure all capsules are fresh and the machines are properly maintained.We're glad the pool was there as a bonus amenity, even though you didn't have the opportunity to use it during your stay.Thank you again for your honest and helpful review.
