Everyone was great! The room was fantastic and the views was great. We will definitely be staying at a Hilton Tapestry again! Even our cat loved the long ceiling to floor windows, He could see the Ped Mall with all the people.

From check-in onward, it was a mess. We came in to an empty check in desk. After Miriam came back from running to a room to help another resident, I’d found out that she was the only one working and had to go to rooms to help people because the company that owns this hotel didn’t staff it well enough, so I couldn’t blame Miriam, because she was nothing but helpful! It’s a pity that Nick, the General Manager, wasn’t there to back her up! As a CPO for a large nonprofit, I was shocked at the poor management. Despite the great design, the fancy touch light didn’t work. The sliding door to the bathroom was horribly stuck and risked breaking just to slide open and the clines didn’t open all the way. So, lots of bells and whistles but this room was made for form, not function and felt like a rip off. Pity. The hotel is well-placed walkable from a lot!

Rooms are spacious, clean, and we'll maintained. Our room had a lovely corner view. The kitchen had a nice assortment of dishes and glasses to use during our stay. The hotel is in a downtown convenient location. Front desk v personnel were friendly and helpful.

Wanted to counter some of the terrible reviews that have recently been written about this place: 1. my room was very clean 2. highly recommend a balcony room. I stayed in rooms 401 and 402 and really enjoyed having the extra space. 3. Once I figured it out the parking garage/walkway were very convenient. 4. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Immaculate hotel. We stayed at the Chauncey on Friday and here on Saturday. Nothing beats the Chauncey, but this is a CLOSE second. The rooms are ultra-modern, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Parking was a bit confusing at first, but the desk help assisted me with a map, and it showed exactly where to park. They have a grocery store in the building that I was able to charge items to my room! Seriously, so cool.

Very cool hotel property. Great location close to everything. Rooms were very clean and neat. Willow at the front desk was very helpful and all smiles. The parking situation was a little complicated. Had a great stay in Iowa City. Will be back !

What an upgrade this hotel has had. I love staying downtown when I visit Iowa City and I normally stay at the Chaucney. I have stayed here many years ago and it wasn't the best. But coming back in April....I can't believe how much they have improved!! Rooms are so clean, staff is beyond kind and welcoming. I will 100% be back at hotelVetro!!

Nice hotel/good location. The parking is not owned by the hotel and is a huge problem. I received an invalid code to get out of the garage and was given a $30 parking ticket instead which the hotel did nothing about. I called repeatedly and got no call back and when I did finally connect with someone all they had was excuses and blamed me for not understanding how to use the garage.

I wanted to make a shout out to Kayla, the manager at hotel vetro. She was incredible with her customer service and really was communicative and helpful when we faced a family emergency. She went above and beyond for us with compassion. We loved this hotel before and now I will absolutely return just because of how she made us feel. This hotel is modern, clean, has great space and is in a perfect location. I can’t wait to come back to IC soon!

I spent four years living in Iowa thinking the Hotel Vetro was the best hotel in town. Now that I came back to teach for 10 days and stayed there, I was very disappointed. Sadly, many of these reviews are accurate. The maintenance is very lacking. The floor 5 button didn't work in one of the elevators the entire 10 days I was there. In my room, the dining high-top table was so wobbly as to be unusable. Sat in the leather chair, which promptly tilted to one side because it was broken. The blind was tattered. The shower head was leaking water everywhere. The desk wobbled and I had to put a wedge under the leg to make it stop. Housekeeping came by once in a blue moon. My bed was only made a couple of times. But weirdly, they kept adding more and more towels to the stack and toilet paper rolls, despite not touching the bed. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Basically, it fell short of what I would expect from a more upscale hotel. But the worst part of the room for me was the bed. I always look forward to hotel beds because they are so fluffy and soft. Not so here. I felt like I was a guest at my Calvinist grandmother's house who believed comfort was self-indulgent. The bed was very hard, to the point I woke up several times a night and woke up with a stiff and achy back. The mattress has very little bounce or give. I asked at the desk if they might have a mattress topper and was told no, they don't use mattress toppers. Other friends staying in the hotel complained of the same thing. Sadly, the Vetro has seen its glory days. And with all the new hotels in town, people will choose a different hotel if Vetro's owners don't start treating the hotel like a competing contender.
