We were completely impressed by this hotel. Our room was great! We were lucky enough to have a view of the river. The quaint, historic town is completely walkable from the hotel. We can’t wait to come back.

We stayed for only one night- family of four- and had a very nice experience. The parking was super easy, check in was simple, and there were lots of amenities at the hotel. I especially enjoyed sitting out by the pool with my family in the evening overlooking the sound. It was super relaxing and peaceful. Also all shops and restaurants of downtown New Bern are within easy walking distance. Great stay.

Great location. Hotel did not offer any complimentary beverages except water. No coffee or tea. The rooms were extremely musty smelling and the bathroom was not as clean as i would prefer, some mildew growing in the grout, paint peeling from walls, baseboards dirty

We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in New Bern and booked a king room with balcony. The views were very nice. The room itself was large but the AC was leaking and the carpet was wet in the room and leaked onto the patio outside. The AC was not very cold either but kept the room decent. The room itself was overall clean and nice. The staff were very accommodating and nice during check in and out making the process easy.

I booked this place hoping for a *beary* relaxing getaway, but instead I got a real grizzly experience. The moment I walked in, I was hit with a musty stench trying (and failing) to hibernate under layers of synthetic fragrance. It didn’t mask the smell—it just made my nose bear arms.
The bathroom was *a total bear trap*. Hair in the shower, grime in the corners—definitely not the den I was expecting to freshen up in. I bear-ly made it through.
As for the bed? Let’s just say I had a *fitted-sheet fiasco*. The sheets were not just inside out (talk about polar opposites of care), but the fitted sheet kept slipping off, baring the mattress every time I rolled over. Cozy? Not by a fur stretch.
Honestly, I expected a bit more polish and care, but this stay left me clawing for comfort. Would I return? Not in a million bear hibernation cycles.
