This hotel’s condition is unacceptable for it being a Holiday Inn and for what the room rates are. It has not been remodeled in forever, there was only grab and go breakfast which wasn’t even put out on time and even the elevator inspections were expired!
Will never stay here again.

We apologize that only a grab and go option is available at this time, however, we will be completing the kitchen and breakfast area by the end of the year which will complete all renovations for the hotel. The hotel is under new ownership and management, causing the delays in renovations. As for the elevator certificates, we just completed our 5-year FAID testing and simply have not updated the certificates within the elevator itself. Only copies are placed in the elevators due to possible damage that could occur. We regret that you do not wish to return but hope that you give the hotel another visit once renovations are completed. Fairly new facility, nice room. Very clean. Staff was very friendly. The only issue I had was that you can hear everything in these rooms. Through the door and the walls, in the hallway and neighboring rooms. Other than that we were very pleased!

Why was the breakfast bar dirty and poorly stocked ? I stayed at a Holiday Inn express last night in Michigan city Indiana and the breakfast bar was phenomenal. Hot foods, hot oatmeal, pancakes… This hotel had a dirty microwave… You had to microwave instant oatmeal… And just cold foods like yogurt and cereal. Sad

It was SUPER CLEAN!! 😁 That’s the most important thing to me. Staff was helpful and courteous, though I wouldn’t have noticed if the room had not been SUPER CLEAN!!

Great staff! Front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was a nice size. We found some hair but nothing major. We were pleased with the cleanliness and the quiet hours. You couldn’t tell the hotel was filled to capacity. Great job!

Smelled strongly of a backed up sewer pipe throughout the lobby, elevator, and common areas which is unacceptable considering it’s on the expensive side for the area. Walls were paper thin and every time a neighboring room ran water or flushed a toilet it was very loud in the room. Hotel staff were great and extremely friendly and the room was clean.

Front desk was so kind and welcoming. The room was awesome and super comfy. Breakfast just had fruit and boxed items, warm foods would be a nice touch with all the nice renovations. Would stay here again.

Nice Staff, but no TV service -disappointing
Our stay was fine overall—nothing fancy, no frills. The property is currently under construction, but the staff was very nice and accommodating, which I truly appreciated.
The main reason for my low rating is the TV service. During our stay, the television went out completely, and we weren’t able to watch anything in the room. In 2025, this feels pretty unacceptable. At the very least, the hotel should have offered a credit or some type of compensation to guests, since this wasn’t an isolated issue but something that affected everyone due to the service outage.
While the staff did a good job, the lack of such a basic amenity really overshadowed the experience.
