It’s important to me that all travellers should know there’s no or very little internet available here. The properties used to have boxes attached to phone lines. They asked you to pay for the internet 38Euros for 3 devices for 2 weeks. That’s bad enough right? Everywhere offers free internet including the campsite next door and the local McDonalds. But even worse - the WiFi (even after you’ve paid for it) is not available from the properties. You have to schlep to reception to take calls or download your emails. You won’t be able to download anything more than your emails. Even sitting outside reception the WiFi crashed repeatedly when I tried to download my newspaper and in fact never managed to do it. My daughter commented “It sounds primitive”. It is.

1. No Wi-Fi. In this day and age, who can live without Wi-Fi? I need it for work. This ridiculous group charges for it when it’s free everywhere. So because I NEED Wi-Fi, I was prepared to suck it up and pay €40 for two weeks Wi-Fi. Only to find it doesn’t work. Even the paid for Wi-Fi doesn’t work. 2. The downstairs loo doesn’t work. There’s no water running to it 3. I will attach a photo of the rusting all over clothes airer. You wouldn’t believe it without a photo. 4. There is no lighting on the steps down to the villa which is HIGHLY DANGEROUS for someone like my husband who is mobility impaired and walks with a walking stick. I’m surprised this is legal. In fact I doubt it is legal. There always used to be lighting. Now there isn’t. I used my torch app to guide him in, but without someone able bodied, the houses are inaccessible. No handrails for the steps and no lighting. 5. The property has not been painted since 2007 and it shows 6. The air conditioner downstairs is faulty and there’s no air conditioning upstairs at all. The rooms are stiflingly hot 7. There are no umbrellas poolside and that’s ridiculous. Who wants to st beside a pool with no umbrellas? It’s unpleasant.

Vanwege het Pinksterweekend was in Castellane geen hotel meer beschikbaar. Via Booking dit gevonden. €33 pp is niet duur. Huisje met 2 verdiepingen met 5 slaapplaatsen (bedden) en nog 3 op de slaapbanken beneden. Keukentje, toilet beneden en boven. Douches ook. Tuintje met terras. En een zwembad is altijd heerlijk als het bijna 30 graden is. We hebben hier genoten.

La maison 14 est idéalement placée. Comme , soleil, piscine tous les matins, jardin , logement spacieux et grande terrasse. Des prix raisonnables, des gens bien sympathiques et une région magnifique. Bref, vous n’êtes pas chez les bisounours mais à Montauroux.
