Our favorite spot on the north shore. We have pups but are careful to leave the room as we found it. We know that it is a privilege to have them with us. I bring coverings for furniture, a hand vacuum and cleaning supplies.

My stay was peaceful and relaxing. Just what I needed. The room exceeded my expectations with a lovely view of Superior. It was the perfect place to watch the clouds role in over the big lake with my coffee and a sketch book. You could tell November was on the horizon.

Property was run down. It appeared that little effort has been made on upkeep. Bathroom rug was ragged. No end tables, coffee table, nightstands on which to place things. Cookware was inadequate. Dishes were fine. Great view, but I wouldn’t go back for it.

All the Buildings are freshly stained, and we are working on rennovating the bathrooms in the Motels. We do things as we are able in order to keep Solbakken afordable for our Guests. I do hope you will come back and give us another try.

In a nutshell, we were locked out from 6am to 9am at 24 degrees. We forgot our keys inside the room but also the front desk woman who owned the place didn't show up till 9 but hrs were. There is no water pressure anywhere in the kitchen sink or shower. They give your water when you check in to drink. And by the way when I asked for a key when she got there and told her what happened and she never said a word. We won't be back.

We did one night on our way back home, and we will definitely be back. The view was amazing, we had the more beautiful morning there. We will definitely be back for a weekend get away!
Rooms have small kitchens, a deck and the common space where you check in was reall great!!! Great staff too!

Cute older place but well kept up. We only stayed for the night and didn't use kitchen area, but it looked good. Each room had a little outdoor sitting area behind the room on the lake side. Resort had a cozy game room/lounge area. Staff were super nice. Shower was tiny with a low showerhead which could be a challenge for a big person.

Motel was just what we needed for a trip up north. All we did was sleep there so we didn’t actually use any of the amenities the property had to offer, but ut served our needs. Would definitely go back.

Perfect Northern Getaway
Perfect. Everything is perfect here. Very friendly people and plenty of room options for what you need. Keep in mind this is more of a rustic style cabin resort and not the Hilton. Being feet from the shoreline is absolutely gorgeous.
