The check-in was a bit of a hassle. The gentleman was not hostile but no accommodating. Seemed like there was restrictions the moment I walked in. Elevator doors do not stop at all as I got shoulder checked.

I had to request a carpet spray from the cleaning service staff because the moment I walked in my room, it smells like someone had just used the restroom there and the odor of feet was very strong. I stayed in a IHG Holiday Inn in Amarillo TX about two moments ago, and I can say that hotel is level above this one in Lubbock. Looks modern but even the door stopper, had screws loose.

The night manager was rude and yelling at us because we tried to eat our dinner at the lobby table. Meanwhile the was like 20 people drink alcohol on the patio. Harry’s reason for yelling and being rude to us was the hotel policy is no food and drinks in public places. Even though they have signs posted everywhere about no alcohol on the premises. When asked about the loud drunks on patio we were told manager said police won’t do anything about them so nothing they can do. So it is ok to yell and be rude to people just trying to eat their dinner with other guests together?

This was our second stay here. The first time everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved it because of the price, cleanliness, and very sweet staff. The pool is terrible but we loved the sauna. The second time was exactly the same. But our tv remote was not working. So we called the night manager which we could hardly understand. The volume and mute buttons were the only thing that worked. The night manager said he had batteries in his office or we could just get up and change the channel on the tv itself. There were no buttons on the tv so all we had was the weather channel. I know it sounds petty by complaining about this, but he was really rude. Because of this, we will not be going back to this location. We were going to tell the front desk but decided not to because of the girl being soo sweet and we were afraid she would get her feelings upset. One person ruined it for us, and I’m pretty sure this one guy has done it before.

This is my last stay at a Holiday Inn anywhere. Alexandria LA you could not check in until 7pm. In Lubbock Texas check in is at 3pm and of course I was there at 2:38pm and I could not check in early. Sat in my car 20 min then I could check in. Shower would not turn off. They did send a guy to fix then it was fixed by the time I came back to the hotel for the night. Got a sermon on pool rules. When they ask - What brings you in to town? and you answer you are there to visit your granddaughter make sure you have the count right that is staying in that room. I did and I was given two wristbands for the pool so my granddaughter and I could use the pool, which we did not. I also would not leave my granddaughter to swim alone, rethink what you say to customers, it could be offending. Checking out I had to witness a heated argument with a worker and customer. As of right right, I am ate up with bed bug bites. Your price of $177 a night is way to high! (This was the weekend everyone was in town to bring their kids to Texas Tech so all hotels jack up their price). Between the sermon, shower, overheard argument, on top of bed bugs this hotel has a ton of problems.

Pool was in poor condition water was vary murky you could nt see your feet on bottom of pool. Air vents in pool Erin had black mold in all vents also air filter was black too.

Pool room had strong chemical smell, we used pool about 15 minutes and went back to room

The property looks so nice from the outside and the lobby was impeccable. However that’s where it ended we got to our room and the carpet was disgusting, the bathroom tiles were popping up but the worst thing was the smell and the ac making a horrible sound ALL NIGHT LONG! It was Techs graduation so we were lucky just to have a room but I’m disappointed that they could charge $200 for such a gross room.
