This is a lovely inn! The staff is very friendly and efficient. Our room was so pretty with very comfortable beds and was much quieter than I expected. The made-to-order breakfast was perfect! Black Mountain is such a fun town to visit. We will be back!

We stayed at The Red Rocker Inn over Halloween weekend and truly enjoyed being part of this Black Mountain celebration as we sat and sipped hot coffee in the wrap-around-porch and watched the trick-or-treaters. Our room on the first floor was comfortable and everyone was extremely friendly. Both breakfasts on the porch were lovely (compliments to the chef!) If you want to be right in the middle of things in Black Mountain, this is a great place to be. Thank you for a nice Autumn weekend!

Spent a night recently while driving the parkway to see the beautiful foliage. Our hosts were welcoming, our room was clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the breakfast. Since the weather turned chilly, we were a bit cool in our room during the night. The inn is on a beautiful lawn with lots of seating for relaxation. We plan a return trip very soon!

If you're looking for a wonderful cozy and unique place to stay look no further than the Red rocker it has three marvelous rooms on the third floor we stayed in Elizabeth's attic suite which has a fireplace and several skylights that let in tons of natural light. Each room is different ours had a huge walk-in shower and a soaking tub with windows and a skylight in the bathroom. Violet the innkeeper was very friendly ,bubbly, and attentive to our needs they offer a complimentary breakfast for guests in the morning but it is no ordinary complementary breakfast it is made to order food that was quite good. The restaurant located inside, Trillium, is absolutely wonderful. Every single thing we ordered was phenomenal. I would highly suggest this charming little inn.

The room was very clean and decorated nicely. The bathroom was connected to the room, and there was a claw foot tub & shower. Breakfasts were included for both mornings of our stay, and on our anniversary, we were told to choose as many items as we liked! That morning, the innkeeper was also the cook and the waitress! The innkeeper and the owner were very friendly and accommodating.

The antique claw foot tub is set on a curtained platform next to the bed and adjacent is the private bath and separate tiled shower big enough for two. An antique mirrored dresser, wing back chair and padded bench complete the furnishings. It makes a wonderful setting for a romantic getaway. We're so happy that we were able to spoil you a bit at breakfast...and being innkeepers means we wear a lot of hats! We're glad that we were able to serve you so well for this trip! Mike, I am sorry for the bad review yesterday. I was having a bad day. I think what bothered me was lack of chatter from the usual houseful of guests. Maggie and Violet were so wonderful is so many ways! Violet was so helpful and always there to answer questions. Maggie made our dinner experience fun. we had fun talking to her about her history with the Red Rocker Inn in the 90s when we used stay there.(New Year’s Eve was our42nd anniversary.) We had dinner at your new restaurant. We brought leftovers home and had a complete meal with an added vegetable the next evening. Even though the heat wasn’t working in our room, the space heater made it cozy, which was nice. I have to admit we did miss the breakfast buffet, but I understand after reading other reviews yesterday, that it was because of the pandemic and that’s understandable. I do really wish you could post a sign on the back door coming in the ground floor, that guests are sleeping, and please come in quietly and not slam the door or make a lot of noise. It would really help for a good nights sleep when you have to drive the next day. Again, I’m sorry for the previous bad review. Please delete it and not use it. We did enjoy your stay, thank you again.

We had a wonderful time. The house was beautiful, breakfast was great, and the staff were so friendly. The location was perfect, close enough to walk to town or easy drives to many tourist spots. Would love to come back soon!

The innkeeper was extremely rude and possibly drunk. Was not helpful at all. Owners were not anymore friendly then the innkeeper. It was much better under the preference Owners. Will not return. Which is sad. It use to be a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.

The Red Rocker Inn not only provided us with a beautiful, clean, and quaint stay, but moreover, the service was truly excellent. The owners were personable and attentive, treating us like family. And as we all know, that is an experience all too rare in our day in age. The scenery was simply stunning, and my family and I so enjoyed the feel and the atmosphere within the town and the inn. All in all, it was a Godsend. Though not originally on our travelling plans, Providence directed us to the lovely Red Rocker Inn which proved to be the perfect getaway. One of my favorite features was that the Inn was just a few moments walk from a thriving town. The beauty of this was that it combined the best of both worlds. The town incorporated so many lovely attractions and shops without the downside of the city scares and safety concerns. We will definitely be returning!

This is a wonderful, quiet and cozy Inn located in historic Black Mountain. Stayed here April 2025 and already made reservations to stay again in October. My room, the Black Bear, was clean, comfortable and well laid-out, with a desk and chair in the corner for working on my laptop. Special thanks and compliments to Violet, who does a splendid job of innkeeper, cook and waitress, taking care of myriad jobs mostly by herself. I can say honestly, she is a jewel. I will greatly look forward to stay here again in the fall.
