Great location on the edge of Dartmoor, pretty much straight onto the moor from the hotel. Looks a bit tired from the outside, but is always really clean and well decorated inside. Staff are always really friendly and accommodating. Good pubs nearby for an evening meal, the Post inn is in walking distance and other good ones a short drive away. Can really recommend the Taw River Inn in Sticklepath.

Great room and amazing staff who go above and beyond for guests, parking is easy and the garage is close by to get essentials if needed. Helen and Kelly were fab.

Clean, comfortable and quiet room, with easy free parking. Tea and coffee facilities in room, but no real food offering is the only minor downside. The plain exterior and rather drab reception does not reflect the high standards within the rooms. No frills, but the excellent price shames others, especially when standards are this good. I want a good nights sleep and that’s what you get.

This was horrid! How does this have 4.1 stars? This place was dreadful. There were ripped walls, stains on the ground, fluff on the bed. Bath was extremely shallow. Never come here!

Enjoyed my stay at Travelodge. It was a short one-night visit, so we simply needed a clean, comfortable and no-frills room for a good night’s sleep. The basics were done well. A highlight was the pillows — my mom loved them so much we wanted to buy a pair. They weren’t sold onsite, so I contacted Travelodge via Facebook to ask if they could point us to their supplier. Their team responded within a day with helpful guidance, and I was able to order them directly. The pillows have now become part of my mom’s Christmas gift this year — an unexpected but meaningful win. Huge thanks to Jade from the Travelodge social media team for the quick, friendly support. A simple stay made memorable by great service. Would recommend if you're looking for an affordable and comfortable stopover.

Arrives shortly after 3pm and was welcomed by Helen and Kelly. Two amazing ladies who made us feel very welcome ensuring we had everything for our stay. The room was clean, fresh and comfortable. Lots of hot water for showers and clean towels. Thank you both for a kind welcome. Highly recommend this travel lodge!!!

My expectation for an overnight stay at this travelodge was not great but we were very pleasantly surprised. So it’s just off the A30 in Devon (about 6 miles from Okehampton), we arrived early and rooms were ready, we were greeted by a lovely, pleasant female receptionist and that started the stay on a positive note. We had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor overlooking the car park. As we are a family of 5 we booked 2 rooms for the bargain price of £25 each. Large and spacious with fresh towels, coffee and tea making facilities and a TV . They are not GCH heated rooms but the wall heater was adequate enough to keep the room warm. It was only in the morning I realised that the window sills were submerged in water from the windows that they would benefit from a refurb and better heating. The check out is not until 12.00 so it allows for a good nights sleep. If you want to chill and not eat out, there is a cafe next door open until 4pm and 5 minute away there is a petrol station which includes a Gregg’s and a Morrison’s daily. Both not badly priced. It is the staff that could do with retraining and actually learning to speak at least a handful of English words. The bloke at Gregg’s actually looked frightened that I was going to ask him something other than a ‘sausage roll’ or a ‘Bavarian slice’. Anything more complex than that and he struggled! How on earth has he been employed to work with customers!? Beggars belief. In the Morrison’s section my son was equally not surprised when he was not given the correct change. Again the check out woman did not understand what he was saying to her. My advice - drive into Okehampton for food!
