I've stayed here several times and it's always a good experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and well kept. Great breakfast.

Room was clean and we enjoyed our stay. The only complaint we have is our room didn’t get serviced. I could have called but it was evening when we got back.

From the moment we arrived staff was very welcoming. They accommodated our needs to check in early so we can make it to the Apple cup. The facility was an excellent condition will definitely go back.

This is an older property and the rooms are quite small and could use some updating. We were just there for the football game so it was ok for that purpose.
On the plus side the restaurant onsite was quite good so that was convenient.

Everyone was very nice. The hotel is very large so it was a lot more walking than I thought but everything was nice.

Disappointed in other reveiws
I rely heavily on reviews and this place had amazing reviews. We felt disappointed. The place is old, our room had a smell and something crusty (food maybe) on the blinds. The hotel is very basic so for the right rate it might work for you but not worth $200 a night. The pool had a terrible smell, I can’t get the smell out of my kids suits. Housekeeping was very kind and the communal areas were clean other than that I just think the place needs a facelift. Not the right fit for us.

Poor communication
Was told by the front desk that they would text us as soon as our room was ready. Never received a text message at all from anybody and was unable to check in at the 4 PM check-in time due to our room, not being ready.

They made no attempt to service our room which was disappointing. Beds are a bit hard and woke up with a sore back. Breakfast was excellent.

Stayed for just the one night, but it was quiet and I had every convenience afforded. The resturant in the hotel is ridiculously good and comparable to pricing around town. Do get the Broasted chicken. Lovely staff, no issues at all. Will definition stay again when visiting my student at U of I, which you can see from the front of the hotel.
