Why oh why when first impression are important are the two flower beds adjacent to the front door full of weeds and cigarette butt's,little dusting inside would not have gone amiss.

We had a lovely stay in the Penrallt Country House Hotel in Aberporth. The hotel is nestled among the rolling green hills of the Welsh countryside. It’s a grand country house with impressive modern rooms and traditional interior. One of the main rooms in the house has a big fireplace with a gramophone and historic globe, we were well impressed with the charming vintage antiques. The breakfast was excellent as were all the meals we had there, it was really good food. There is also a traditional bar with good beers and ales and the rugby was shown on the screen. The Manager and the Chef looked after is so well and made our stay most memorable. Itf s a short walk to the beach at Aberporth and just walking in the grounds around the house was lovely. Very peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the worst place that we have ever stayed. Arrived to a dirty room, owners then cleaned it, gave us free breakfast because of problem . Following morning waiting one and a half hours for breakfast, some people left without it because they couldn't wait. Next morning they had lost the keys to the restaurant so waited again for an hour, people again had no choice but to leave because they had work.... And yesterday we had breakfast and I had eaten one pice of toast o ly to discover the bread was full of mould... absolutely flabbergasted, this place is on its knees, the staff are over worked due to u Der staffing, the place is dirty and the standard of everything leaves a lot to be desired. The guests we spoke to all felt the same and said they would never return. It was very family towers. Please avoid, I cannot stress that enough. I have had to contact the environmental foods standards agency and Ceredigion council regarding this matter as it is so serious.

Angela and Andy did a lovely job of hosting our wedding 💒 on 2nd August. From the initial planning of our special day through to the special day itself, Angela and Andy were there to ensure everything ran smoothly. All our guests who stayed at the hotel and attended the wedding thought the hotel was lovely, homely, clean and beautiful. The food and service was outstanding as always. We highly recommend Penrallt and both Angela and Andy work extremely hard. Once again, thank you so much for making our day so special and we are very lucky to now be able to call Angela and Andy our friends. J&A x

Looked great on website and booked for 3 nights. Unfortunately the reality was much different .No evening restaurant, Given a garden room rather than the hotel.Room was cold and not clean many signs of lack of upkeep. Lots of spiders and mound. Appeared to have only 1 permanent member of staff and 2 part timers. Little in the way of useful information and house keeping. A posh Fawlty towers sums it up. The short break here spoilt a visit to a lovely area with fabulous beaches.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Penrallt Country Hotel. This elegant hotel has stunning views over the beautiful Aberporth Bay. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and clean with a good hot shower. We ate an excellent cooked breakfast every morning watching the house martins wheeling overhead to nest in the eves. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and enjoyed an excellent meal. There are plenty of good coastal walks, beautiful sandy bays and places to eat within a short drive. Only criticism? 2 weeks is not long enough to do justice to the stunning scenery and enjoy the excellent hospitality of Angela & Andy
