It s a nicely hidden resort, a bit rundown, especially the pool, but clean, good food, nice service, parking space, quit, has seen better days, but on the beach, day trips to the islands in the bay, god for a few nights

Set in a large garden setting, Budi Sun Flores offers a lot. The grounds are extensive and seem to be undergoing positive new development with lots of new trees planted. Location is somewhat outside, east of Maumere, so city travel needs planning. We stayed in a larger house with 3 bedrooms and a sitting room; bathrooms are fine with hot water and water pressure, though missing shampoo / soap. Rooms are basic, comfortable though sheets and blankets basic and the rooms could do with a bit more decoration. The restaurant is open air with a good menu of Indonesian and western meals. Service is friendly and courteous, though the need to order by 4pm for dinner points to a smaller kitchen. One highlight is the driver who took us to the diving village - Jakob. Super safe driver, well informed and fun to hang around. Recommend a day trip with Jakob!

Wow. What a beautiful place. If you are after peace and tranquillity, then this is just superb. We have stayed at the top places in Maumere but this tops it off. The management are superb with service and advice. We hired a motorcycle for 2 days and were given directions to the most wonderful and off the beaten track locations in Maumere. My only question is, "Why do people go to Bali?" In Maumere, we discovered Blidit hot springs.... amazing!, Doreng Beach, small villages, beautiful jungles, and wild monkeys. Maumere is the true paradise of South East Asia and is untouched by the tourist hoards. Budi Sun..... thankyou for your service and advice.
