The checking in process was conducted in a professional manner and all questions were addressed at that time. A map of the area was given and directions were thoroughly explained. Once we arrived to the villa we checked in and examined the rooms. Found hair in the tub, jets look like they haven't been cleaned or serviced for months, dirt and dust in the tub once filled with water, oven was not cleaned, and cracks in the wall. Booked this hotel through AMEX and I'm an IHG platinum member, bit after staying here I would not book this hotel again. Definitely not the quality I would expect that IHG would provide nor AMEX recommend.

We called a week in advance and spoke with Miss Coco about the current state of our room, so we could prepare and pack appropriately. We were told our room was a 2 bedroom, had an elevator, was by the water, had a king bed, and Jacuzzi tub. Once we arrived, we were told our room was not by the water and didn't have an elevator, but had been remodeled. We arrived at our unit and continued to be surprised as the rooms were old, very worn down, rustic, small, had only queen beds, and no Jacuzzi tub. This was nothing like the picture represented on RCI. There were in fact no rustic small cabin pictures advertised. This is a 2 bedroom unit and it was small. The rooms were small, the guest bathroom was small, there was no counter space in either bathroom, and the kitchen was so small every time I turned around I hit my hand or elbow on something. There were stains and scratches on the walls, lint and grime in the down henges, the walls had lint hanging off of them, there was black mold like substance on the ceiling, paint was coming off the ceiling in the main bathroom, the furniture and appliances looked worn out, the baseboard had grime & dust on them,and the master tub looked pieced together in its decor. Also, the exterior doors have cracks that let bugs in. We had a few unwanted visitors on our stay.

The resort was clean and surprisingly empty. Room was accommodating for a last minute trip. The front desk people were very helpful and happy.

My wife booked this place - not sure why. Lake was her reason. Did just a small amount of research and knew it was a bad idea. She wanted to keep the reservation. I told her we have NEVER stayed anywhere with this many terrible reviews. Guess what? It totally sucks. The infrastructure is somewhat OK (generous) but so very dated. Remote. Inconsiderate guests all around. Do not stay here.

If I could leave zero stars, I absolutely would. I strongly advise against staying at this location under any circumstances. On June 8, 2025, my young cousin went missing for over 10 hours due to a combination of unsafe conditions. One of the primary issues was that the doors to the unit did not close or latch properly, creating a clear and unacceptable safety hazard. The management's response was deeply disturbing. When the incident was reported early that morning, the manager’s only response was, "I don’t have time for this right now," before walking away. This level of indifference in an emergency situation is beyond unacceptable. To make matters worse, the entire resort has no surveillance cameras, doors that do not securely close, and an apparent disregard for guest safety. As for Montgomery County, the response from their services was apathetic at best. The officials involved seemed more concerned with bureaucracy and paychecks than with the urgent safety of a missing child. This experience was horrifying, and I’m sharing it to warn others. The safety protocols are nonexistent, the management is unresponsive, and the accountability from local authorities is severely lacking. Please take this as a serious warning — your family’s safety is not guaranteed here
