Food it was okay my wife said it was like a school lunch. But after the welcome from the woman we nearly left before the food came out it was like we were an inconvenience i didn’t catch her name but was a larger lady

I tried stopping him several times before I found it open. Average pub. Pretty chaotic outside, never saw it tide. Inside was ok

Stopped over travelling to Scotland. Perfect location with great views. The Inn is warm with a friendly welcome especially from Lynsdey the landlady. Had a beautiful piece of fish for dinner and there is also some great art on the walls by a local artist Macenzie Thorpe amd two adorable spanials doggies Room was very comfortable and very quiet. Had a great nights sleep. Will definately stay again. Plenty of choice for breakfast too. Book direct for best prices

We stopped here for a pub meal on our journey across the A66. I remembered having visited here maybe 30 years ago and then it was excellent. Well, not this time. Friendly service and convenient location on our route is all that I can say which is positive. The food was absolutely awful. Dry chicken, soggy chips, dry vegetables, runny sauce. The carrots weren’t even peeled (and they weren’t baby carrots). To add insult to injury, we ordered a side order of garlic bread. When it came, it was 3 thin slices of cheap supermarket garlic bread. For £5.50! We actually gasped out loud at the overpricing. I work in hospitality and I estimate that was about 30p worth of cheap garlic bread at most. Our dining table in the bar was dirty, covered in a spill of pepper which the server didn’t clean up when she brought our cutlery. The toilets were filthy, both toilet seats stained with excrement. Shocking. Needless to say I won’t ever be visiting here again. Avoid.

I've driven past The Rokeby hundreds of times, always saying to myself that I would see what it was like, last weekend I did. It was a nice welcoming place with pleasant surroundings and staff . I opted to have a roast beef lunch. It arrived after a while and it looked and smelled delicious. A decent selection of vegetables, two different spuds, though I would have liked more than the two toasties I was served. The beef was spot on and very tasty. Gravy was served in a separate boat. They heat the plates before filling them , making sure your meal is enjoyable to the last mouthful . DEFINITELY eating here again.

We’d broken down nearby and the hosts here at the Rokeby Inn couldn’t have been any more welcoming in a very stressful situation with a small child. My daughter and I ended up staying there for 4 hours in the pub while my husband went with the broken vehicle and we couldn’t have been any happier. Not only were welcomed to stay as long as we wanted and offered help in our situation we were served delicious food; home cooked chips second to none! A huge thanks again for your kindness and hospitality <3

Stopped off for something to eat on our way to the Lake District. It was such a quirky little place! The staff were polite and friendly, the service was quick and the food was excellent! It was very obviously home made and cooked SO well. I would highly recommend a stop off at the place.

Fabulous find on the A66, super friendly owners. We stayed in a double room it was super clean the bed comfortable and had everything you need for a peaceful overnight stay. Although literally just off the A66 it was very quiet. Super breakfast that set us up for the day. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed the night here after our car had broken down a mile down the road (and had been waiting for 5 hours for roadside assistance/pick-up). Even tho we checked in after dinner service had stopped, Charles set up a table for us in the bar and made us a lovely dinner (and slipped some mini twixes on the table as a treat!). The room was comfortable and quiet (in spite of being so close to the A66), and the en-suite bathroom was clean. Breakfast in the morning was tasty and filling (set us up nicely for the rest of the day). The children had lots of fun in the play area (we were there for 3 hours while our car was being repaired). Lindsey and Charles were so lovely from start to finish - we were definitely a bit frazzled after the car broke down, but they took such good care of us (they even stored our fresh food we had brought with us in our cool bag for our holiday, and offered a lift to go pick up a rental car) - such a kind couple x
