We stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Calgary Downtown during the second week of December as a couples visit and had a genuinely excellent experience. The hotel is new, and while there were a couple of minor settling-in moments, staff were upfront about letting us know to flag anything immediately. Anything raised was resolved quickly and professionally. We even returned to our room one afternoon to find chocolates and a typed thank-you note, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. The room was clean, comfortable, and very well set up. There’s a small seated nook with a table by the window that easily accommodated the two of us for dinner, and would also work well for business travellers needing space to eat or work comfortably. The room also features a TV with streaming apps, strong air-conditioning, and excellent blackout blinds. Power outlets are everywhere, so you won’t be short on places to charge devices. Storage is well thought out, with lots of places to put items away and a good amount of hanging space. The bathroom was huge and felt genuinely comfortable, with plenty of space to move around. The large walk-in shower featured a multi-option shower head, including a massage setting, along with good water pressure. Breakfast was better than expected for a complimentary offering. There were multiple coffee stations, juices, hot options including waffles, cereals, toast, and clear gluten-aware choices, which made mornings easy. The location is a real strength. Being in downtown Calgary, the hotel is extremely accessible to shops, food options, and public transport, making it easy to get around the city. There’s also a small convenience store in the lobby, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The entrance is down a side street, but there’s a large Hampton by Hilton logo on the side of the building, making it easy to spot once you’re close. We would 100% stay again and would happily recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located base in Calgary with genuinely good service.
