Great for sight seeing.all are walkable. Access by road is narrow. There’s a rear gate to walk to the beach but is very dirty. Clean premises Rooms are large and spacious but with old furniture. Washrooms are clean and well fitted. Service is avg. the complete housekeeping team is a bunch of kids from east , no experience just work. There’s no restaurant, food in under an open canopy, noisy. Food is south and veg. Hygeane is an issue. Staff is polite and courteous.

We were a group of four and stayed in two rooms at Madras Chronicles Bay Resort in Mahabalipuram. The ambience was pleasant and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The pool area was inviting and well maintained. The resort also has access to a public beach, which sounds great in theory, but the approach was quite dirty and poorly maintained. Considering the beach is one of the main attractions in Mahabalipuram, it was disappointing to see it in that condition. On top of that, it closes at 6 p.m. sharp, right when the sun sets — which really takes away from what could’ve been one of the best parts of the stay. The restaurant food for lunch and dinner was excellent — flavorful and well-presented. However, it was rather surprising that the restaurant is located outside the resort complex, requiring a 4–5 minute walk. It felt inconvenient, especially in bad weather or at night. The breakfast buffet was average — not bad, but nothing special either. Our experience with the jacuzzi was disappointing. We were told the water couldn’t be heated properly because a photo shoot was taking priority, and staff said they couldn’t run it long enough to reach the right temperature. That kind of guest management left a poor impression. On our last morning, we requested a few early breakfast items since we had to check out sooner than usual. Instead of accommodating the request, the staff made excuses and seemed more concerned about what other guests might think, which felt dismissive and unhelpful. In summary: Food: Excellent quality, but restaurant location is inconvenient. Rooms: Spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Service: Needs major improvement. Cleanliness: Good overall. Ambience: Relaxing and comfortable. Beach Access: Poorly maintained and closes too early for guests to enjoy the sunset. Overall, it’s a decent place if you’re focused on food and room comfort, but the service, beach access, and guest experience could be much better.

check out time is bit early,

checkin is at 2 pm and the check out is at 11 itself,

only vegetarian food is available that too very costly and the restaurant is outside the premises, around 8 mins walk

hot beverages are very highly priced..

Property was good with the pool view on one end and garden view on the other end.

Complimentary breakfast was too good with south indian dishes like idli, vada, pongal and poori and dosa as the live counters with two juice choice and tea and coffee.

Also continental bread, butter and jam. Also hot and cold milk available.

Also we had ordered lunch from the Madras chronicle restaurant which was too good.

We also enjoyed the pool services and the park and the beach.

The only concern was that we didn't get the Spa service and the space is getting renovated.

Overall too good experience.
