The hotel was very new, so new that once you got to your floor it had an overwhelming smell of glue. The rooms were super bare. Hardly any lighting. There's a desk but no desk lamp. One floor lamp and tiny bedside lights. The coffee amenities in room were sparse...with only two cups - 6 would have been better, but lids that didn't fit, and two, 8 oz bottles of water. The bathroom was sparse as well. No cups, a tissue box with two tissues left and no spare box, no spare rolls of toilet paper, (guess you have to take a chance on using the loo). For a rate of $300/night for two nights and the possibility of $460 for the third (which I cancelled and went across the street to the Hilton Garden Inn - so much better for $200 less), I don't feel it's worth the money.

The AC Hotel Newtown Square is new and offers free parking, but that’s where the positives end. At $300+ a night, the rooms have no comfortable seating—just a stiff work/dining chair—making it impossible to relax. Housekeeping is only every other day, laundry is overpriced and slow, and the overall value is bad. Elite recognition is non-existent. No free breakfast, just a $10 voucher toward a $20 meagre buffet with a broken Nespresso machine. No meaningful upgrades for Titanium Elites either—I was placed on a low floor right across from the elevator and ice machine. Next time, I’ll stay at the Hilton Garden Inn or go downtown. This was my first and last stay here.

We recently stayed at the AC Marriott in Newtown Square and had a truly wonderful experience. The hotel strikes the perfect balance between modern and comfort, with thoughtful design. We stayed in an accessible room, and we were genuinely impressed by how spacious and well-designed it was. The layout was easy to navigate, and the bathroom—especially the shower—was great. It was thoughtfully equipped. It’s clear that accessibility wasn’t an afterthought here, which we really appreciated. The location is convenient, close to shops, dining, and Mid Atlantic Retina ( where we had a very early appointment.)

Everything at the hotel was great except for one employee who told me the hotel was sold out so she couldn't give me an early check in only to find out hotel was not sold out but that was okay

They did not resolved our requests for extra towels and trash can replacements. It was my first experience that no action was taken in response to the same requests.

In the dim light, we saw our room had no closet...
The hotel is brand new and is immaculate with a very professional staff so most of my criticisms relate to the AC operating model. I'm not sure what type of traveler AC is looking to please, but the no closet, maid service every other day (not an "eco option", they just don't do it), charge for breakfast, bizarre ambiance lighting schtick didn't do it for this family based three day stay with lots of clothes for social events. Aimed to the In and Out biz traveler I guess?

First off - it's laughable that people actually had any complaints about this place - it is exceptional. Still smells brand new, the room was very clean, the bathroom and shower especially, were great and as I have been here all day - this could not be a quieter location! The fitness center is amazing - new, modern treadmills and plenty of other equipment. I guess some people aren't happy unless they're complaining. I stay in hotels all year long, and this AC by Marriott is second to none.

Minimalist hotel
I traveled with other employees and their rooms were not finished being built. There were no lights in the room other than the entryway and the bathroom. There is no actual closet for clothes, just a wall mounted rack next to the television. The small refrigerator had a holding temperature of 42 degrees, so it was unsafe for storing leftovers or items that were perishable. The hotel seemed to embrace the minimalistic approach. Minimal lighting, minimal water pressure. It was clean, safe and everyone I interacted with was very friendly. Since this is a business focused brand of Marriott, it is not a shock, but to rent rooms that were not properly appointed seems to be a poor business decision.

If you want to feel like you are staying in military barracks this is the hotel for you. It is cold, minimalist and POOR service. We left our 3 rooms and upon leaving we saw housekeeping and told her we were leaving for the day that she could make up our room and not have to hurry. We returned at 9:30 p.m. to find the rooms not made up, no towels etc. What a terrible place to stay for a Thanksgiving weekend. Never again.
