Element Cartersville is a fresh, new hotel recently opened this year near the Lakepoint Ballparks in Emerson. It is a more deluxe version of Marriott’s slick 15 year old boutique brand. This location has a restaurant called the Skyline Bistro on the 5th floor — most Elements have only four floors — with live music on weekends and a delightful open air terrace. Personally, given the name of the hotel, I believed they should have named the restaurant The Periodic Table. Service here is notably pleasant. Steve at the front desk provided a welcoming arrival experience, although the neighborhood was in the middle of a power outage. The property is super clean thanks to a first rate housekeeping team. Rooms are functional and have plenty of lighting everywhere you need it, abundant electrical and USB outlets bedside and desktop. Housekeeping is not offered daily but the hotel will happily accommodate a daily housekeeping request. Fortunately, I did not experience any type of disturbance from the many baseball teams that stay here. The kids and coaches I encountered were all polite, respectful and quiet. The one drawback to the hotel involves the unreasonably early hour the kitchen stops serving breakfast: 9:30am weekdays and 10am weekends. That’s crazy! If one is flying in from the west coast, one would need to wake up and eat when your body clock is telling you it is 6am. Starbucks and Waffle House are close by to save the day. Element is great property for early risers who want an excellent place to stay in exurban Atlanta off the 75 Freeway.

This hotel basically caters to sports teams on the nearby sports field. Sports teams means loud kids who run the halls and parents who think their kids can run unsupervised. For business travelers it might be ok on weekdays but it is a nightmare trying to sleep if there are teams there. This should be underlined in their listing for this Element. We have stayed in Elements throughout the USA that are nothing like this. Sleeping was impossible until we had to pack up and move rooms in our pajamas at 11pm. It was made worse with only one working elevator for a hotel with full occupancy. Breakfast service promoted as great wasn’t setup at the stated time and there wasn’t even milk to go with our cold cereal. Coffee wasn’t even out. After a bad night this was a big disappointment. On checking out, I spoke to the manager who noted my concerns and told me this was a special Element that does the majority of it’s business with Sports Teams. Had I known! He said he would get with Marriott about getting our points refunded which hasn’t happened. I typically hate to write bad reviews, this is to make others aware that if your looking for a good night’s sleep and a warm breakfast, buyer beware!

Disappointed by the Lack of Cleanliness
Disappointed by the Lack of Cleanliness
I stayed at this hotel recently and was shocked by the condition of the bathroom. The toilet and shower were visibly dirty, with brown stains and grime that clearly hadn’t been addressed before my arrival (see attached photo). It’s unacceptable for any hotel—regardless of price point—to neglect basic hygiene. Cleanliness should be a top priority, and unfortunately, this experience left me questioning the overall standards of the property. I hope management takes this seriously and improves their housekeeping protocols.

The location is next to baseball fields. There are plenty of other activities nearby also. The hotel is newish which attracted me. Lots of families and baseball players staying here. We didn’t eat at the hotel - we went up to 1885 which was really good. This stop was more expensive than I would normally pay for a traveling hotel but the fact that it was so new and clean was attractive to me.

The proximity to Lakepoint could not have been more perfect. I appreciate the well laid out room. The room had all the comforts of home. The laundry facilities were much appreciated. Made to.order breakfast was awesome to get the day started.

We were attending a baseball tournament at Lakepoint. We literily walked to our ballgame from the hotel. Very convenient.

I booked a room with AC and the hotel knowingly assigned me (and 3 others from our baseball team) a room with broken AC. I checked in online at 1pm and was not able to get to the hotel until 10:30pm due to baseball games. I was never notified by hotel staff that my room would not have AC.

Fantastic!
Booked a king room and was moved to a double queen for some reason but was an overall great stay!
