I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint regarding my recent stay at Treebo Park Palace, Guwahati, which turned out to be one of the most disappointing and distressing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days, and right from the time of check-in, the experience was unpleasant and unprofessional. Day 1: Check-in and Arrogant Staff Behavior Upon arrival, I noticed multiple notices displayed: no outside food allowed and no visitors after 9 PM. While I had no issue following house rules, I was shocked when I ordered lunch and was told it would be delayed by 45 minutes to 1 hour due to a private party in the restaurant. Despite being a paying guest at the property, the in-house restaurant refused to prioritize room orders. When I raised this concern at the front desk, the staff member named Rahul responded rudely, dismissing my concerns and talking about “his party” and “his people.” His tone was arrogant, and he seemed entirely unaware of what professionalism means in the hospitality industry. I contacted MakeMyTrip immediately, and the customer support team intervened and spoke with the property. They later apologized and issued a ₹1,000 gift voucher as a goodwill gesture. While I appreciated this, the problems continued. Day 2: Poor Housekeeping and Hygiene Standards I asked for the room and washroom to be cleaned. The “cleaning” was done by throwing a bucket of water into the washroom—no proper cleaning, no disinfectants. Additionally, the fixed toiletry dispensers in the bathroom were empty or non-functional, with not a drop of body wash or handwash available. The complimentary breakfast was another letdown—excessively salty and oily food, and a visibly dirty washbasin in the dining area. When I pointed this out to a staff member, he simply said, “That’s not my job.” Late Checkout Request Mishandled I had an option for a late checkout (by 1:00 PM) as part of my MakeMyTrip booking. However, the staff member at the front desk (name possibly Firoz) rudely refused, saying they had incoming guests. I had to push back firmly and show my booking terms before he reluctantly agreed. Again, very poor handling of a basic request. Day 3: Shocking Hygiene in the Kitchen and Intimidation On the final day, breakfast was again unhygienic. The food trays were left empty, cockroaches were visible, and spoons were mixed and unclean. When I couldn’t find any staff nearby, I walked up to the kitchen—what I saw was appalling. The kitchen was extremely dirty, with cockroaches and even birds flying inside. I took photos of the condition as evidence. A dining room staff member told me I wasn’t allowed to take pictures and insisted I delete them. I refused. He then called the receptionist using the landline and passed the phone to me. The receptionist threatened action against me if I didn’t delete the photos. I firmly told him I had every right to escalate this to higher authorities and government health officials. Af

Everything fine except the Breakfast timing. I was 8nformed that I can get at 8 AM, but cannot get even at 8:25 Am and I have to leave the Hotel without taking Breakfast!

It was an excellent stay..Property is easily located with rickshaw service..had all the amenities and food was good too..staff was helpful

Everything is good and food needs to be improved and staff is not Okok. Overall it was a good experience. Enjoyed bit

THE STAFF BEHAVIOUR IS SOO WORST. THEY PROVIDED AN UNCLEANED ROOM WITH MALFUNCTIONED AC and TV. The room was very conjusted and small as They provided a standard room instead of the Deluxe room which we booked. The room didn't have any calling bells. The room landline phone was also not working. The bedsheets and comforter were uncleaned. They didn't even provided any electric kettle. Moreover the room which was allotted to us didn't have any room number even. When I complained at the reception to change the room he shouted at me saying it's not their concern since we booked from a third party app. Overall we are unhappy with our booking.

The hotel provided a small room and charged us for the delux room saying that they now didn't have any deluxe room available.
