We were given an absolutely stunning room with the ocean view!!! The room itself has been all updated. We also love the free coffee and tea available all day long. The heated pool and spa offers a great way to get some exercise and to unwind.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and much larger than we anticipated for a mini suite. We arrived early and our room was ready so we were able to check in sooner. The entire staff was accommodating, friendly and helpful. We loved all of the amenities from the gym to the games and fire pit. We can’t wait to return and stay longer.

We spent 4 nights here in mid October in a one bedroomed unit. The building and grounds were very well maintained and the unit was modern and stylish with plenty of home comforts. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and crockery for preparing cold or hot food. A nice pool area which was not crowded during our visit (neither was the resort) and whilst we didn’t make use of the BBQ grills, we saw a number of others doing so. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony which had a view of the beach. A short walk to the beach and some local restaurants and only a short drive to San Luis Obispo and the PCH. This is a good alternative to a hotel room with the additional space and options to self cater and we wouldn’t hesitate to chose a vacation club in future.

Based on the website pics we thought we would get a balcony with some sort of view. The room itself was very nice and hotel grounds had beautiful water views. BUT the ‘balcony’ was literally too small for 2 people and all you saw were walls and the tops of a couple palm trees. We asked for a different room, but were told club owners get first dibs, which is understandable, but we paid 300.00 a night which was a lot of money for us. Front desk manager was not accommodating at all and said hotel was full. Which it might have been and I might not complain if the room were not so expensive,,but at the price we paid and the website pics we saw and driving up to the hotel with all the nice balconies, the balcony we got was wrong. A hill view or parking lot would have been a thousand times better. We love sitting in our outdoor area and is one of the things we look for in a room. Very, very, very disappointing. Never stay in room 322!!

There was a fire alarm twice during our 2 night stay. The first one was at 4am. We could not get ahold of anyone at the front desk so we had to walk down there to see what was going on. The desk clerk was not too worried and there was no fire dept there. She said she thought it was a false alarm. Not very comforting. When I mentioned when I checked out that I thought it was not handled very well, there was no apology I was just told they were short staffed and they aren’t a hotel they are a timeshare. They is mot very hospitable. I’ll not stay here again or recommend it.

This hotel has stunning views of Avila Beach. Its located on top of a hill so we were able to relax with perfect view and sound of waves. We took short walks to Avila and Port San Luis to eat. Staff was nice. We didnt get our room clean throughout our stay and the fire alarm woke us up both nights at 4am. Both times were false alarms but very scary. The hotel only has coffee it would be nice if they would add continental breakfast since restaurants are walking distance or expand their pool table area by adding a bar & lounge. Every business and restaurant closes at 8pm so it would be nice to have something to do. Our overall stay was very relaxing for our first time at Avila.

Nothing. Electrical plugs are worn out and unsafe. Many don’t work at all! No desk for working. Coffee machine not working. Tub-shower slippery and unsafe with no safety mat available… on and on. This property is a black mark on the Hilton brand. Will never recommend it to my friends and associates!
