We paid almost 300 for a relaxing night away after our wedding and it was anything but relaxing! We purchased the couples package ti include a fully stocked fire pit. It consisted of about 5 logs no fire lighters or anything to light it with just the logs! Tv wasn't working and we asked for someone to come look at it for us. Was assured someone was being sent out! They never turned up! Hot tub was grimey and most definitely not cleaned out and refilled after every guest! We have the same hot tub at home and know it takes a lot longer to clean and refill and get to temperature again. No shower gel in bathroom absolutely pathetic welcome tea and coffee pack for 300 was just disgraceful I sent a further 2 emails and pic will show response I got.. was absolutely sick to my stomach to be treated this way I seen from other people's reviews that anyone with a problem is just looking a free night but I wouldn't step foot over the property again. Beautiful scenery spoilt by terrible customer support team. I was that annoyed we packed up and left at 9am if your thinking of this venue think again absolutely not worth the money I've been to far more luxurious for far less money with customer service team that has manners

Our party of 8 had a very pleasant stay in 4 cabins. The cabins were spotlessly clean. It is a beautiful setting and easy to find. There is a nice 10 minute walk in to Portglenone to good supermarkets and lovely cafes. Communication was good and prompt including a brand new iron and ironing board when we requested it. Sadly we felt it was only worth 3 stars because the cooking facilities were very basic. Only one cabin had a sharp knife to cut bread. A plug was missing from the sink in another.One cabin did not have a mirror near the hair dryer. We were there 4 days so more teatowels and dishcloths would have been good. They could really wonderful if there were better places to put clothes( there is nothing in the bedroom of the bigger cabin) , better quality toilet paper and improved cooking facilities. Then they would be at the luxury level they claim.

Was a gift from family member for 1 night stay. All very nice inside but no real views of rover, just the hedge. Hot tub was brilliant but take that away and its a £90p/n stay. For the money Galgorm would be worth a look definitely. Quite a few flies as well which was annoying.

Misrepresentation of the number of rooms

From the start, we had a bad experience with River Bann Retreat. The communication was very poor- I had to chase them to respond to emails and you can’t reach them on the phone. Our main complaint is that Lodge 1 is advertised as a 2 bedroom lodge. It in fact has only 1 bedroom, with a bed and a sofa bed in the living room /kitchen area. Our guests had to go home because it wasn’t as described. The kitchen area is not well equipped. Very defensive staff when our issue was raised about the misrepresentation of the rooms. Do not recommend.

We absolutely loved our night at the River bank retreat. The accommodation was modern and spotless. Right beside the river we were able to drop the men and kids off upstream and they paddled back to the cabin while we had a beautiful 5 min stroll and a glass of wine in the local. I had no idea Portglenone was so lovely. I was delighted to have the list of places to eat and that they delivered, the spar had everything, I love being able to support local when away. The hot tub was spotless and obviously cleaned with fresh water put in before our arrival. We will definitely be back

Although, we were not able to stay at River Bann during 5/16-5/19, we had a terrible experience with lack of communication and business policy with this owner! The reason we had to cancel was our niece was recently tragically killed in a school bus accident locally and had to change our plans. We communicated this several times to see if we could get any refund, however NO reply from the owner and no help from Hotels. Com either. While this may be a nice place, that experience alone really left a very bad feeling about this owner and how they operate. Be warned!!

Great upmarket stay. Riverbann Retreat is a true gem! The peaceful riverside setting, cozy accommodations, and warm hospitality made for an unforgettable stay. Perfect for a relaxing getaway, I highly recommend it to anyone! Also be sure to use the hot tub and sauna
