Nice stay in a historic hotel, loved all the paintings! Comfortable bed and has a sink and refrigerator in the room, so having a shared bathroom is not a hardship.

Wonderful historic hotel in the small town of Springer. Our family booked it as a late-night holdover on our way to somewhere else in the area. The beds were clean, very soft and comfortable. The host was kind despite our late-night arrival and guided us through the amenities. This is a historic property though, so some of the facilities are appropriately dated. While we were fine with this, some of them seemed to reflect overdue maintenance (porcelain/finsh chipping/stripping in the sink) vs just simple age.

酒店回复: It was a pleasure having you. We are too emotionally attached to the 1940s sink and the 1960s tubs. They are reaching the point of replacement as the only real remedy. I need to forgo the sentimentality.

The room was clean and allowed pets! Only one bathroom down the hall though… A/C worked great and they had a nice coffee/tea station which made the morning go quicker. It is an old building and could do with some remodeling

酒店回复: There are 2 more bathrooms downstairs and a toilet closet at the end of the hall for the front 4 rooms , but the rose bathroom is definitely the primary. I’m glad you had a good stay, and renovations are always on the list of improvements we are hoping to do over time. Thank you for staying with us.

The reception area was full of mismatched antiques that were sitting around with no apparent purpose. The hotel was very clean, but in much need of update. The shared bathroom was between two bedrooms, which worked for us since we were a family unit. There was a clawfoot bathtub with a shower that had fantastic water pressure, but it was encircled by shower curtains that made it feel small and closed in. The bed was the absolute best bed we had on our entire week of travel. It was the best sleep we had! Since no breakfast was served, we went north down the street to a small diner named Elida’s with an excellent, affordable breakfast menu. For a short overnight stay and an amazing low price, we would stay here again.

We didn’t have our own bathroom. Had to share with other people. The bathroom was not very clean either. I did not use the shower. A child checked us in. I did not see an adult employee the whole time.

酒店回复: You booked a room with a shared bathroom. As noted on the wall and the front desk, we can clean it on request but obviously have no reasonable way to know it was used. You were only sharing the bathroom with one person with a late checkout, and it was cleaned that morning by staff. The bathroom is old, like the historic 110 year old building - but wasn't in fact dirty. Four other guests were in the hotel, but were using their private bathroom. My children are clearly more literate and intelligent than you; but we have a PHONE, TEXT, EMAIL, and SERVICE BELL. The private bathroom room was indeed available, please don't confuse your poverty with our lack of facilities. You received an email, an ******* message, there is a sign on the front desk, the NAME of the room is "shared bathroom", and the booking confirmation mentions the shared bathroom multiple times. It is ridiculous that our ratings are dependent on such a pathetic, intellectually stunted loser.

Historical brown hotel and very cozy. Lots of snack and internet access is super fast. Shared bathroom and shower but each room has its own sink. Great for hiker and ppl looking for just a place to sleep. AC is kinda loud but manageable and great value hotel

You’ve been warned.
Definitely put me in the worst room they had. Could not even sleep in the queen it was busted and sagging. Don’t let them put you in maple room. Always felt as though I was bothering when I had a question, which was mostly to not damage property further. Didn’t seem to be concerned or care. It wasn’t worth $35.

酒店回复: Maple has a soft bed compared to others , mattress will get replaced annually like normal. I checked it, it is starting to sag. 2nd most popular room, but it is a little too artsy for me personally. My son answered several questions , but he was polite and helpful on the lobby camera . You never mentioned the bed. The claw foot tub and ring shower curtain information was likely pretty new to anyone who doesn’t use historic hotels. Maybe a guidebook would help; but it would be difficult to explain it in the level of detail to cover every possible person. This app failed to deliver your mid - stay concerns ; I will file a ticket with their company when I get a chance. Sorry you feel it’s a poor value; at your rate it was already charity.

Springer Station is in the historic Brown Hotel where Judy Garland filmed scenes for "the Harvey Girls" long ago. It is an old-style hotel run by a delightful family and has clean comfortable rooms and areas to sit, have coffee, and read. I was in a shared bath, which takes some flexibility, but worked out just fine. My room had its own sink. The hotel is linked to the railroad era of the Santa Fe as Springer was a transfer station, and many train personnel stayed at the Brown. The family also runs the Depot restaurant in town, where I had the best steak in 20 years! I highly recommend this site for a stay.

The owners live on site with very noisy dogs, barking at all hrs of the night. Owners are very unfriendly.
