Another business trip brought me back to the Tri-City area for the night. Having stayed at three other hotels in the area previously, I expected this hotel to be comparable. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Based on the cars parked in the parking lot during check-in and check-out this hotel was not busy since it was a weekday. When I entered the lobby, the front desk was unattended. I eventually found the clerks sitting at a table on the other side of the building. Check-in was okay, and the clerks were pleasant. One appeared to be in training. The room itself was somewhat small, though the bed and TV were both large. The lighting was quite dim, possibly due to the type of fixtures used, and brighter bulbs would have made it brighter. The room included a desk and chair but no additional seating or lounge chair. The only power outlet available for charging devices was built into the TV, which was surprising for a newer hotel, as most now offer outlets at the desk or built into lamps. Fortunately, I had brought my own wall chargers and an extension cord. The room had vinyl flooring throughout. While that may not bother some guests, I would have preferred carpet. The shower was also very small, and it was difficult to avoid the water spray while lathering. I brought a couple of beers to enjoy during the evening, but the refrigerator in the room was unplugged, which made little sense. At exactly 9:00 a.m., I walked the short distance from the elevator to the front desk to check out and once again found it unattended. I noticed two different employees seated at a table nearby eating. Breakfast officially ended at 9:00 a.m., and by that time all food trays had been wiped down and the breakfast area closed. I attempted to get a cup of coffee, but while the decaf and hot water dispensers were half full, the regular coffee dispenser was completely empty. The two clerks did not look up or acknowledge me as I stood there. I eventually walked to the front desk, and they called a third employee to assist with checkout. There are two other hotels located very close to this one, across from the Pinnacle. On future trips to the area, I will likely choose one of those instead.

Clean and quiet room with comfy bed and nice shower. Friendly staff at check out and at breakfast. Breakfast was good with enough to offer variety. However, skip the pancake machine as you get a little pancake and it is SLOOOWWW. Would def stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tru in Bristol! The staff were super friendly, the hotel was spotless, and breakfast was a great way to start the day. Everything felt modern, bright, and welcoming. The only downside was a clanking sound in the walls at night, not constant, but enough to be annoying if you’re a light sleeper. Other than that, it was a great stay, and we’d happily come back again.

This motel was a delightful surprise! The gal who checked me in was a sweetheart! The room was beautiful - I'm old fashioned and I don't need cool, new modern furniture, but this place is pretty new, so it's very tastefully done. Breakfast was very decent for the price. They provide yoghurt and I'm big on starting the day with protein - not always available in inexpensive motels. Breakfast room was immaculate, too. Clean is a big priority with me. I will return here if ever I'm near Bristol again.

This hotel is very clean and very convenient to I 81. Staff are very nice. Pets are allowed........however they charge a fee of $75. This fee is called a Reservation fee. I would have thought that if they collected such a fee that it would be like a deposit and you wouid get it back Subject to no damage being performed. I emailed the Hotel 2 days ago questioning the fee but no response yet. Make sure you check on fees for pets.

Stopped at this almost brand new Tru on the TN/VA state line overnight for a rest stop. Very nice property right off I-81, very clean, comfortable room, good breakfast. Caleb, at the front desk, gets an attaboy for juggling a hotel full of guests when their IT system went out right at crunch time. He walked people to their rooms and used a master key to get them in. Multiple food options are right down the road at The Pinnacle "new town center" shopping center complex. It is so new, our navigation software had a location on the other side of town for some reason. Don't get fooled. Small pet friendly with no fee.....ask don't assume. IYKYK.

Our first time at a Tru by Hilton. We loved the new concept. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Best of all, we loved the walk-in shower---no more struggling to step into a tub to get a shower. We will definitely be looking to book Tru hotels on our way to Florida in the fall.
