This Bed and Breakfast was amazing. Most unique, historical and up to date place we’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast was coffee and a muffin but boy oh boy...that muffin was delicious. Everything is automated, so getting in through the gates, the front door and your room is very easy and simple. Opening that front door for the first time was like stepping into a luxuriest past! Everything was beautiful and you can tell renovated with care and love. We stayed in the Loblolly Room and I would stay in that room again 100 times!! The 4 poster bed was deep and soft (not too soft) and you had to use a little stepping stool to get up into it (which was fun). Everything in the room was convenient like the pretty couch in front of the bed, the big TV over the fireplace, small fridge, microwave, ice, coffee pot and history book etc. The bathroom was amazing and had scrumptious soft towels, hairdryer, lotions, and all the shampoo/conditioner and gel in big containers which I appreciated. These items were located in the HUGE shower with two shower heads (waterfall and handheld) plus a bench seat. I cannot tell you how much I loved this bathroom. After dinner that evening, Hubby and I played games in the parlor and listened to the pretty music being played from an old timey boom box (lol) and just enjoyed the esthetics and relaxation of Sunbright. The next morning our host (the Mrs) showed up and we had a wonderful conversation with her. She told us more history and some of the business ideas for the place and then she offered to show us some of the rooms that were not being occupied. LOVED THIS TOUR! I wish we could have stayed longer but let me tell you, we are definitely going to be coming back and now the worst part of that future trip is going to be trying to decide which room to stay in.

This hotel was more than a hotel....it was a luxurious time machine that transported our group back to the 1800's....to a time of intense, personal connections, and refined luxury in *the most* beautiful of settings and arrangements. There is SO much thoughtfulness and care put into all the details to preserve the history and make this such an exquisite place to stay. If you have the time, DEFINITELY book yourself a stay here....and plan to hunker down and enjoy all the finery it has to offer.

Convenient location, right in town, with a secure lot. Walkable to restaurants. The atmosphere took us back in time, right down to the push-button light switches. Great value for the quality of the property. Very quiet, except for the occasional train horn. Very clean and well-appointed, with coffee and muffins for the next morning.

I grew up near DeFuniak Springs and have admired this Victorian mansion from afar for decades. As a child, I wanted a peek inside, so my inner kid was giddy when we were traveling and looking for accommodations in this area, and I realized Sunbright had been renovated and was open to guests. My teenage son, who is not a history lover, rolled his eyes when I booked our reservation and said, "It's an old house. It's gonna smell." He was immediately proven wrong--and admitted it. He left as a true fan of the Sunbright Inn, and both our son and daughter want to stay there again when we are back in the area. It felt very secure, with keypad gates and door codes. It was conveniently located to all things Defuniak and a nice drive to the beach. It had a lovely firepit in the back, and we were spoiled with beautiful music, lit fireplaces, lovely Christmas decorations, a personal letter, and muffins, coffee, cookies, and chocolate during our stay. I spent a memorable evening in a cozy study room under the stairs reading all about the history of the home and its connection to the Chatauqua movement. The beauty of the home brought me to tears, as it did another guest staying there at the same time. The attention to detail was incredible, and that includes not only the exceptional restoration, but the service to guests. It is obvious the innkeepers are personally invested in their guests' comfort. The bathroom was spacious and extremely clean with a fabulous shower (we were in the L&N suite). The beds were comfortable, and we had a lovely sitting area with fridge, microwave, and fireplace. The balcony was nice, and the comfortable chairs were made with wood reclaimed from the renovation. Wifi was fast, and my tech loving offspring had no problems running their devices. We have stayed in some great places over the years, but I save my highest recommendation for this one. It was truly a magical experience for our entire family from start to finish. We are grateful places like the Sunbright Inn exist and are lovingly maintained.

A fantastic experience, this is probably the best done remodeled home I’ve ever seen. The home has a deep sense of history pouring from every corner. The attention to detail is impressive! Slightly more expensive than nearby competitors, but worth the extra expense for high-end quality like this!

A truly remarkable experience!! Upon entering the property, you go through a coded gate. The front door is coded as well as your room. Very safe! As soon as I walked in the front door, I was greeted with beautiful classical music, the fireplace on, and hallway with chocolates. The Magnolia room was a dream! I am gluten free and the owners greeted me with a welcome letter and gluten free blueberry muffin. There is a refrigerator and microwave with coffee station for your use. A blessing from God from start to finish!! I recommend bringing earplugs if you are not used to road noise as it is next to an intersection. Overall 5 stars!! Very peaceful, heaven on earth, and the owners clearly know how to go about and beyond. A must stay!! Thank you
