I booked this room to stay in while traveling, there were some issues that slowed us down, so I called the hotel to let them know it would be after 2:00am close to 3;00am, they then informed me that although I had paid for the room in advance and called to let them know I would be late they said the reservation would be cancelled but I would still be charged as a no show, which I found to be very unprofessional since I needed that room and then had to pay for another room the same night at a different hotel while still being charged for this room

Without going too far into the weeds, yes, the reservation would be charged as a no show, That doesn't mean that you would not have been able to check in, it just meant that you would definitely have been charged for the original night. Again, my apologies.

It was a very lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the breakfast. Everything was also quite clean.
