It was obviously the off season. The service when I checked in was good but checking out I felt like I was a burden. There was a water stain on the ceiling and the hotel itself didn’t seem very upkept. I would not recommend staying here in the off season as a female solo traveler as the front desk is not manned 24/7 in the off season and the streets are practically deserted outside making it not the safest place to stay.

The property is in a community of some sort. Shops, restaurants and cafes all right by the hotel. But the parking is very very limited.

Great value and walking distance to Ooh La La for breakfast. Loved being able to walk to lake for beautiful views.

My husband and I wanted a little getaway for the night, so we came to Lakeside. The staff was nice and helpful. Walking into the hotel is like going back in time. You can tell they are attempting to do minor updates to some rooms, but it's happening little by little. The rooms make it feel like you're in a dormitory with stiff beds. I wouldn't rate my sleep excellent, but I slept well. Husband on the other hand is picky and didn't enjoy the bed. We think the room was worth the value. I did read the other reviews and think it should be noted that you do need to purchase a pass if you come memorial through Labor Day because this is a private community.

Hotel does not offer the breakfast during the off season which we were not expecting. Room was clean but floor was sticky. The room itself was damp, leaving the sheets even feeling damp at night. Staff was friendly, front desk staffed around the clock. Room only supplied two pots for cooking. No skillets or cookware available.

Comfy stay
I stayed up there with my girlfriend as a weekend getaway for her birthday. It's perfect to stay at if you want to go to Kelly's Island (the ferry was only a couple miles away) Overall the staff was very friendly and the room was bigger then I thought it would be. King bed was definitely a plus. Only thing was they sent me over an email saying I had to get a parking pass, but that's only valid during the "On season" (Memorial Day-Labor day) So I didn't need to worry about it. Overall will gladly stay again.

Most restaurants and shops closed even on weekend kind of a bummer but otherwise great place to stay
