This hotel is fabulous with a fabulous welcome upon arrival. After reading the reviews online we had chosen here for a few days away for a birthday treat and it didn't disappoint. All the staff we came across are so welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful. We only ate in the brasserie during our stay which were Monday and Tuesday evenings, the fine dining doesn't run on these nights. Breakfast had varied options to choose from, not as extensive as you may get in some places, but what we wanted it very much pleased us! The cooked options were well presented and delicious. Lovely almond croissant with a coffee and I'm happy! We booked a bigger room, it was so clean and lovely with a big comfy bed. Bathroom was super clean with fluffy towels and a big walk in shower with nice toiletries. This hotel has a professional yet relaxed approach which is just what we look for. You feel very will looked after without any pretentiousness. The bar was so welcoming and cosy with the big sofas. They play such great music too. We felt it was great value for money. The location, you are not in walking distance to anywhere, so I felt you do need a car to get out and about if you want to, but for us it was more about chilling in a great hotel! Beautiful Holt isn't too far which is well worthy of a visit. We just loved it here at The Harper. We will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so relaxed and enjoyable. It was just what we needed!

Stayed for one night on special offer (Monday) and were very impressed. The staff are fantastic, super friendly and professional. Food was excellent and very well presented. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and modern decor throughout. They now have amazing stained glass windows which are noteworthy. Would thoroughly recommend.

We spent one night at The Harper in January but wish it had been longer. Every member of staff was fantastic and went out of their way to be friendly and help in any way they could. The hotel is beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. We particularly enjoyed the private use of the spa and the cosy lounge and den areas. Highly recommend stay here.

Have just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay at The Harper with my daughter. The hotel is gorgeous and so laid back-we felt at home from the moment we walked in and our dog had such a lovely fuss made of him. The staff are all excellent , particularly Keith at the front desk who couldn’t have been more helpful. We’re looking to booking again and retiring soon.

On the + side, the reception is very welcoming on arrival and it was nice to be escorted to the room and have a tour to the spa. The bedrooms are spacious and are very convenient with a dog. The dog towels are a nice touch and the fact that we can bring our dog for drinks and breakfast is great. A free cocktail voucher is nice. Unfortunately the list does not have any non alcoholic options. The massages were excellent and recommended! Breakfast is excellent too. On the areas for improvement, we had booked the spa and sauna on the first day and the sauna was cold on arrival. We mentioned it at reception and it was working on the second day but we missed the opportunity to have a proper sauna on the day of arrival. The dinner was nice but overpriced for what you get. The service was patchy, very willing waitress but she did not enter what we ordered so we got fries instead of broccoli. The broccoli was eventually delivered and we were not charged for the fries but that is not the point... We had a similar confusion at breakfast. Overall some good things but others not so good and we would not recommend that people have dinner at the Harper.

We had a lovely weekend at The Harper. Enjoyed the friendly, relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. We were with our dog and felt very at ease and looked after by the super friendly staff. The bar serves excellent cocktails and dinner at the fine-dining restaurant is definitely worth going for. Overall a great place, also the enjoy the beautiful beaches that are just a short (15-minutes) drive away.

Highly recommend this hotel. Lovely part of the world. Facilities, service, rooms, food and staff were all brilliant. Stayed for two nights but wished it was more. Will definitely go back. Shout out to Keith but also to all the restaurant staff who couldn’t have been nicer.

We had a lovely stay here in a downstairs room overlooking the terrace. Really great hotel with an excellent ambience. Dinner in Stanley's was fantastic. Very close to wonderful Norfolk beaches, Wells-next-the-sea and Holt so a great location. A lovely treat after a busy Christmas and New Year.

Hotel is newish with a stripped wood mid century style. Bedroom was a good size w tea/coffee etc. The bed was super hard with synthetic pillows and quilt and not great bed linen. There are 2 restaurants - fine dining, where the food was excellent but ££££ but the dining room is rough wooden tables and causal dress, the other option was sandwiches and fries. There is a pub the hotel owns, the Langham BlueBell which was great- small and a very good pub food menu and well cooked.

We stayed with another couple over the New Year- a 2 night package. This was our second visit to The Harper. Overall a lovely stay and a super way to see in the New Year. The dinner on New Year was superb and the live band and dancing was a fun way to celebrate the New Year. The service throughout was professional and courteous, although a little impersonal considering The Harper is a small private hotel- there was no sign of management chatting to guests that we have experienced at other such establishments. The spa area is lovely and the trio treatment was a perfect way to spend an hour before getting ready for the New Year festivities. It was a shame that the added little extras which made our stay seem even more special last time we stayed, such as dog bed and treats and a stocked mini- fridge are no longer provided, especially as we had told the couple who joined us this time to look forward to the ‘small touches’.
